Just wanted to check back in, with the topic of my dog's sore foot. It is getting better now that I am allowing more exposure to the air. However the huge cone that goes around her head to keep from licking just doesnt work, she is too big a dog and my house is too small. If she moves she whacks into things.Mostly with that cone on she just sits still. she hates it. Instead I leave the foot un bandaged for a time and just watch her close.
When she goes outside I slip a footy or sock over her foot and tape it at the top to protect the injury so the flies wont get to it.

Oh no, what happened to your dog foot? I hope it isn't serious and that it is better soon..When I took my puppies to get fixed, one thing the vet told me was dogs have a high tolerance of pain, so they can look like they are better when they are not..

She injured her sciatic nerve apparently although the vet doesn't know for sure. anyhow she is only five years old and she drags that rear leg. it is better but still has a raw wound on it. I did buy some special boots for handicapped dogs and she can at least go for walks outdoors now, when she drags that foot of course it makes the sore (on the top of her foot) worse. But the boots help to protect her.

Oh good, but as for the sciatic nerve, is there any way to treat it or to relieve her pain?
