I don't know what really is a typical "soul food" besides greens and chitlins (or atleast here it is). So I've not really eaten any of it because I do not know anyone who cooks that way. But I'd imagine because of it's humble beginnings there may be some good meals stretchers in the menu. I think I would love the Mexican food better. Though we've gone to a more authentic restaurant and it's way different than things they sell at Taco Bell so one must know what to order and what sides and or condiments compliment your food.

i love mexican food, but havent had the chance to try real soul food except those rib joints on the side of the road, with collard greens etc but i would like to find a real soul food restaurant and sit down and try everything.

Well I love all kinds of foods, peferably puerto rican as I am puerto rican. If I had to choose I would say Mexican, only because I have not had much Soul food to compare. But you never know...
