Each country has + and - Many people go to work and live in other countries. Some people are easily adaptable, but others do not. I was impressed that a Romanian friend of 20 years living in Germany, asked me a small flag with Romania. But...when someone talks bad(on TV,in newspaper or personal) about your country ,how do you feel?

It depends, but sometimes it can hurt me, when I think that the critics are wrong. I remember that during a few weeks in 2003, when my country -- with others -- decided to not get involved in the Iraq war, many American sellers on Ebay were saying "I will not send anything to France" ; I found this lack of understanding shocking. As you said, every country has plus and minus, and everyone has reasons to be proud of his own country. We have to respect each other and to don't say bad things uselessly.

It was related to the war and the pacifist attitude of my country. It was ultra nationalism, but does not last long : on Ebay, business is business .

Of course I feel bad when someone talks bad about my country whether it is true or not. There are many ways to say it, constructively or destructively. No country is perfect, as you said it has + and -. I love my country and its people. What I don't like is the people in the government who do nothing to stop red tape and corruption.

I won't mind if someone speaks bad about our country coz i know what my country is and i don't have to prove to anyone else what my country and my people are capable of. Moreover, as a christ follower, i know what is more important in life and what is the purpose of life. So i won't give importance to some dumb-a, if he/she talks bad about my country :-) savvy?

Tell me webzap. What will be the reaction if i react.. Some one says that my country is bad .i react to it with a counter which will start an argument, which can lead to fight. I want peace. If someone is so mean and ruf to talk bad about somebody else's country then he should be ignored and not encouraged

nothing is worse than hearing from other people how bad they see my country. i am proud of my country. i am proud of our people. if there are bad things that are happening to our country, it doesn't mean that our place and people are bad. at times,i get into arguments defending the misconceptions. but am glad to realize that other nationalities i encounter look at the Philippines as a little nice country somewhere in Asia Pacific.

If it is true,i won't feel bad. Like what you've said dear, each country has positive and negative sides. Sometimes, other race to say the bad sides of our country doesn't mean that, they criticize us,but, they might want us to changed the bad thing/s in our country. Maybe some races really despise our country by saying bad about it,well,it is their opinion. Every one is free to express what they feel and what they've observed.

In my country there is a saying that goes 'I love my own, my native land, Philippines my Philippines . . .'. Anywhere we are outside of our country, we are thinking of coming back as soon as possible, even we mark the days in the calendar and start counting the days. No matter what we do, we dream of coming back, of meeting friends and families back home, giving some presents and have a get-together homecoming party. But if someone badmouted our country, do you think we will be happy? We normally have to depend our 'native land', together as one, no matter what.

Look this is my country right or wrong, I am an American and I am proud of my country. I try here to do my best to respect each country that a mylotter represents. we all are proud to be citizens of our various countries and thats really great. I love our National Anthem and it always brings tears to my eyes.

Hi dawnald: If I find that what this person says, negative of my country is true I would tell this person that the information is right but in my country are a lot of people that are opposed to this negative situation whatever it is and that I understand the indignation over this subject. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day. ALVARO.

I.m English and very pround to be, I take great pride in what we achieved in the past.If there is a good reason ,backed up with hard facts then I don't mind being bad mouthed, but if it is without good cause or facts then I am deeply offended. There a lots of good things and lots of great people in England and to be bad mouthed for no reason is not fair on our great nation.

Yeah, when someone bad mouths your country it kind of hurts, especially if your not in your country. It makes it seem like many people of the world is against your country. Well, since you cannot change what others say about your country I try to ignore any negative comment about my country.

I have traveled to fifty different countries in the world. Many of the countries I really liked and some even were added to my favorites list. I have got a poor impression of a few countries. Really good things and bad points can be mentioned about all countries in the world. I am fully aware of all the bad points of my home country. I would agree with any person that says my country has poor weather. Last August we had some very cool days and it didn't feel at all like summer. My country is quite crowded so I would agree if someone makes a comment about that. I think all people are entitled to say what they honestly think about my home country. I would find what they say interesting and not get offended.

I feel very bad of course every one feels bad.but it's not good to talk about a nation in such a way it hurts their feelings.Everyone feels their country as their mother and one cannot sit quiet when they are talking bad about their mother.People should learn to respect not only theirs but also other nations.

It also depends on what the person is saying about my country, if i know that what she or he said was wrong or fake, then of course i would be angry or feel bad. But since our country has many issues and problems, we really cant avoid to hear negative comments and criticisms about our country.

I just encountered one, here in mylot. Though I am not the thread starter, I am quite offended by it. especially, if that person haven't even stayed nor set their foot here. For me, insulting a country is like insulting everyone from it. I believe respect is what we should always put in mind, though it is hard to seek when others don't even have one for themselves.:)
