I got this very weird experience during my college years i tell you.
Way back when I was still in elementary and high school, i was one a good student. Complying this and doing that, attending competitions and all... During my elementary years i ended up with top achievements, so as to my high school years...
But during those days, i was not that much exposed to computer gaming and all... I was innocent that time... hahaha...
But when i stepped up on college, it was a total difference... I started up having home sickness and all, unable to concentrate and make good scores out of my exams... geeeeeez...
I was failing in some of my subjects that time. Until i was able to make a good stress management, time organization and as well as good past times... =)
In the end, i finished my bachelor course with flying colors...
I was very glad to have such experiences during my college, and through those, i was molded into a better person today... ^_^
So what was your unforgettable experience in your college years?

My college years was really unforgettable. When I was in college, I really tried my best to strive. My family's finances then was really down and I have to be responsible for myself. I worked as student assistant while I also managed to have academic scholarship. I was serious about getting good grades and also working to have ample allowance. I am happy that I was able to finish it. :)

Being into such situation like you did, there must be something that allows you to continually fight back and survive...

In college, I spent one year in Germany. I wasn't homesick at all and I loved it. I saw a lot of things, got to be more or less on my own, learned a lot.

All of that, plus new and interesting places to explore, new food to try, etc.

Haven't got all the information though but perhaps your experiences were totally awesome as well...
hmmm, I'm pretty sure you enjoyed your time with your friends during your time in college, because it is the only place in the world where you can be a totally different person.
Literally no father yelling, no mother nagging and most of all no annoying siblings to think of... hahaha..

hi shadowluigi many years back I was running across the campus to get to the dining room when I sae this twenty dollar bill just lying there on the sidewalk. So I picked it up and after lunch wentdowntown to a womensdress shop and bought the dress Ihad wanted for ages.okay so I pulled out the twenty ,the dress back then only was eight dollars, and'
handed it to the clerk. she frowned, went in to the backof the store and came out with a good looking young man. He spoke pleasantly to me. Then he hauled out his credentials. FBI I was really nervous. He told me the bill I found was counterfeit and they had been aware that these bills were turning up on the campus. So he asked me, after I paid for the dress out of my own money, to show him where I found the money. He gave me a ride to the spot which oddly was right in front of a mens frat house. then he asked if I had seen anyone around outside the frat house when I picked up the bill. I told him just the one fat kid named Frigate, whatever for Inever did find out, and we went into the frat house to find Frigate. Frighate saw us and jumped out a window. He was too fat, and the FBI agent had him down and in an arm lock. they found the printing machine, all the stuff that this Frigate and his roommate had been making phony money with. I had to excuse myself and get to my next class. A week later I received a twenty dollar check through themail from the FBI ,marked for services rendered. I thought that was really kind of the FBI agent.

COooooooooOoOL!
This is one heck of an experience Hatley. But really, did the FBI just gave you 20$? Nothing more?
I mean, your service was of big help to them...
Thanks for sharing your reply regarding the topic discussion...

There was ragging in my first year and I still remember how they ragged me. Being just out of school I still carried my school bag which I did not know was never done by college going students. These seniors the moment they spotted me started teasing me asking me if there was any mail for them. Not a big deal you might say but for a sixteen year old it was too much to bear. Then there was a function for newbies. I went to the stage and sang and the moment I finished there was a chorus of 'boos'from the seniors! These incidents are etched in my mind.

This happened years ago and ragging is done in groups and when the newbie is alone who never gets a chance to fight. I did have happy moments too but these events stand out.

certain events can be recalled once in a while, but just give it a smile and think about this: "can i be here if those things didn't happen to me?" ^_^

College might not be that much of a memory for you allknowing. Sad to say, but perhaps you must not allow those seniors to bully you like that. I mean, why don't you stand up and give a good fight...
A fight, but not physically but be tough, face their teases and demoralizing statements.
A man who never fights back through a quarrel/fight, is a man indeed.
Because once you fight back the worldly way, you should be a shame of yourself, because nothing can be resolved through a fight...

My word I think that would be the sleepless nights, in order to finish assignments. I studied computer Science and had a lot of programming assignments and I tell u just getting a comma in the the wrong place could cause a program to stop working, then I'd have to spend hours trying to figure out where I went wrong. I'm glad I went through it, I made some unforgettable friends but God knows I wouldn't go back there.

Sleepless night that is... Those were part of our past Royalty... I also experienced such thing like you do... but ours basically has its focus more on the medical field because I'm graduated as a nurse...
Making a wrong move is part of our trials in life, glad we made it out of there...
So nice of your to post... ^_^

quite a lot of memorable experiences, us the whole class hiding under our computer tables and our professor thought we have left already because he was late... and then there are those times we would just hang out and relax while we wait for our next class... college life is fun! i missed it already...

Sure thing Chiyo, you remind me of our class rebellion... hahaha... it was indeed a big insult in behalf of our professor.
Actually, it goes like this. The school policy is, when the teacher or student is late for 15mins for an hour class, the concept is when there is a class each hour must have an extension of 15mins...
It so happened that our class was a long lecture, so it was suppose to be a 4 hours discussion. But the sad thing our teacher was really really late that time... it so happened that all the class left the room because an hour had already passed, then our teacher called my attention asking me "what is going on here? Don't we have a class?", so I replied, "Indeed we have a class ma'am, but strictly following the school policy it was already done because of your tidiness..."
I know, you might think I am the superior one that her, but no, the school greatly encouraged the students to be assertive at any way possible.
So with that event, the following lecture, our teacher was never late again but instead she's in the class counting who is late and sending them off the class... More like a revenge? lol...
Hope you liked my reply... have a nice day... Ohhh by the way, one nice post there...

My unforgettable experience in college is one night when I was studying late for an exam and finally got to sleep at 3 a.m. only to be waken up three times by my roommate and her boyfriend. The first time was when my roommate's laptop fell off her bed. The second time is one her boyfriend fell off the bed. The third time, my roommate fell off the bed. I wasn't mad at her since it must really hurt as her bed is really high and I passed the exam anyway.

hi shadowluigi,
there's a lot of things that i consider memorable in my college years. well this is the first time i got a bf, haha and the time i got my first job (well im a working student) and lots lots of struggles not only in my studies but most of all in my family.
but one thing i can't really forget is that, its also the time when i find out who my real friends are and who are not. there's one incident that happens that tests the friendship i have with my peers. its true that in times of troubles, in the lowest time in our life, that will be the time we'll going to know who are true & not. sad to say, most of the people that i thought are my friends coz we have been together for a long year are all nothing but fake. huh! they leave me when i need them the most and saving all of them, i mean we get involved in one 'cheating' thing in school but it ends up me taking all the responsibilities saving all of them. but they have done? nothing. they just keep silent and leave me behind and what's worst is they even gossip about what happen. oh i hate them that time.
from then on i told myself that i am wrong in thinking of them as my real and dependable friends.
but i am also thankful that i come to know them and learn my lessons. but after that incidence, i shifted to another course and there i find my real friends who never let me down, accept me for who i am and what i have been.

I had a great time going to college in the sixties. I met a lot of wonderful people and beautiful girls. I met this one girl I fell in love with but she couldn't date me for racial reasons. We continued to be good friends for a while. Years later she ended up being a cover girl. One girl was from a wealthy family and was dating an All American football player. Every time she got something (body suit, mink stole, etc.) she would show it to me. Whenever we walked down the street to go to the store, people would look at us and I felt like a celebrity. In the cafeteria I played bid whis with my Black friends and spades with my White friends while the juke box played songs by Chicago and other music groups. I studied hard and could have gotten better grades except I partied a little too much. I joined the theater company of the famous playright August Wilson. He wasn't famous yet. After the first day I went there, he invited me to a party at the University of Pittsburgh where I had a great time. I later quit the company because it was too radical for me. A couple of years ago one of my ex spades buddies from that school found me on Classmates.com. She's now my Facebook friend and we IM each other talking about the good times.

i have also my friends who's always there for me whenever i have problems in my subjects,,and then of course where having fun when we our free time,,we usually like watching movies..
the best thing about my college years was that my parents never get hussled during examination days because as an S.A in our school it's not need for me to pay my tuition fees..

A nice experience you got there dimples...
Being a Student Assistant needs typically a type A persona, one who is capable of organizing this accordingly, able to balance his/her responsibilities at school and at duties...
Your parent must be so proud of you... For sure, you got something special from them during or perhaps after the graduation? ^_^
Anyways, about the S.A. thing, ours here is only subsidies in tuition fee.. so it's not that big enough to allow you finish your study... I'm from silliman that's why it's like that, how bout you? where did you finished your college degree? so that i may refer some people if it near my place...
