If you had your choice between a job that had average pay, but allowed you to spend evenings and weekends with your family, or a job that paid very well, but kept you away from your family on evenings and weekends.
Which would you choose?

If you want to have a brighter future for your family instantly, you can have the second job that offers a high paying job. What matters most is, how you will give time for your family. If you can do it in some other way to spend with them, well it's ok as long as you are happy with that kind of situation. Being with your family is the most important and you can give them all their needs.

I would choose the first option. As much as possible I would like to spend every hours of the day at home rather than going out for work. It's the reason why I'm looking for a home job whenever possible.

We work because we want to give our family the best in what we have, and to save money for the future. Nowadays, it's difficult to find another new job, mostly we stayed in our current job eventhough it pays average as long as we receive our salary without discrepancy. There were always a time for work and a time for family.

Yes, that's really true. You know, I'm only working for 3 days.
and I'm happy that I'm doing part time job. I worked only just a few days per week but I earned as much as those whose working as full time.

I'd go for an average pay and have time with my family. So long as it's enough to provide well enough for my family and get to spend quality time for them, I think that's okay. There are many children from well-off family today who are well provided or too much provided by their family, yet they're not happy. I don't want my future family to be like that.

Hi thanks for your response, I guess most of us want to be with our family and to have a brighter future. Yes there are many children who has everything they want in material but without the presence of their parents it is because they were busy working, that's why some of them needs a lot of attention.

The job I want is the one that offers work-life balance. That is, there should always a time for my personal life and a time for work. It should be balance. Its not good if one overwhelms the other. I am really thankful that my current job promotes work-life balance. Its one of the reasons why I don't look for another job.

Good for you that you have that job, you can manage your own time with job and family. Some people now look for another source of having extra income due to financial crisis, their salary isn't enough for his family.

Of course, I would choose first mentioned job, which allows me to spend weekends and evenings with my family.
I would give priority to my family first, then the job. I think money isn't everything, the significant thing is the love from family, their company, and their smile. I feel nice when my family happy, after all keeping them happy should be my duty. Isn't it?

Money can always be found as long we are looking some ways to earn money, and money can't buy the smiles of our family and our happiness. Spending time with our family makes the bond stronger.

I would choose the job that had average pay because there are always odd jobs you can take up that maybe your family can come with, like mowing lawns or puppy sitting or such. Being with your family is why you had them in the first place so its silly to choose a job that doesn't allow you to be with them. Besides, maybe a better paying job with similar hours will show up later on. Priorities and sacrifice are the name of the game with job hunting anyway.

No matter what type of jobs we have, all we need is a time management. Set a time for everything, for job, family, friends, and fun. That well make us happy. Also we must learn to save money.

i think i need to choose the first one. i wouldn't want myself to be tied down too much.. even if it pays really good, i think i would still be on the losing side because it eats up a lot of my time - i can even get another job for the free time i can get from the other job that might only pay average but i'd have more free time

Right choice! we can earn money more than that high paying job.. even here in Mylot we can earn money, and we can be with our family.

I would choose what makes me happy and that'll definitely be the one where I get to spend time with my family. Cause you know, even if you earn a lot but then your not able to spend time for the people that your working hard for...then it'll just be useless.

You are right, and I agree with you. We need to work hard for our family, but we need to spend time with them. Not spending time with family may lead into a gap barrier with our family because we do not know what they were doing, and family must bond together and it needs guidance.

Hi krischine,
Evenings & weekends with my family would be my choice. Before I used to work away from my family,it's a very rewarding job & a high paying job but believe me,it's so hard. After leaving that job,I get to be near my family but got a new job that requires me to work on evenings & weekends even holidays & that is more harder, imagine being near to them but feels like you can't spend your time with them since when I am at home,I need sleep to cope up with so not to get sick.Anyways now I'm spending a lot of time with them especially my daughter,& it's worth it.

Thanks for the response, I am glad that you spend time with your family eventhough your busy. Spending time with our family can relieve stress from our work.
