When does the Rapture happen, before or after the Tribulation

There was a recent interesting discussion on heaven and hell. What about the teaching on the end times. There are two main opposing camps, those who say we are raptured before the tribulation, pre-tribulation and those who say after the tribulation. There is another mid-tribulation camp too. There is compelling biblical evidence for a post tribulation argument but the why would our loving God allow us to be subjected to the tribulation woes. Much like the hell argument I guess. Is the pre-tribulation argument a man made theory put together by the church to make preaching easier.

Hi Nickfyoung
I remember reading in Rev that Christians would stay on the earth during tribulation. I cannot reference it at this moment. Once tribulation was completed, the Christians that were deceased would rise first, then those of us still alive. All of us would come before the Judgment seat of God. Our salvation is assured provided we have accepted Jesus as our savior. Then we would get our rewards.
God bless you

There is a popular belief that Christians are raptured before the tribulation or is that for the churches to make preaching easier.

Hi Nickfyoung
Revelations is a very complex book to understand. When this conversation started I remembered hearing someplace that born-again Christians would stay on the earth during tribulation. When I attempted to find the reference, I could not find it, in fact based on what I read, I now think the opposite.
Read Revelations-Chap 7, specifically verses 1-3. Verse 3 says an angel says "Hurt not the earth, neither the sea ...sealed the servants of God in their foreheads."
I interpret that to say born-again Christians go up before the tribulation when the earth and sea are hurt.
God bless you

It won't happen until after the tribulation. If we have the Lord in us and we have the truth, then there is nothing to fear by going through the tribulation, as during that time, we will be protected. We need to stand firm in what we believe, as are going to suffer lots of persecution before that time comes. As far the pre tribulation rapture is concerned, that is man made, as there is nowhere in the bible where it says we will be taken away before the tribulation. It is best for all of us sto be prepared for the tribulation, so that when it comes, we won't falter and lose our salvation. The tribulation won't be easy to go through, but we just have to keep the faith and we will be fine. God bless you and have a very good day.
