Things heating up between US and Mexico

A 14 year old Mexican boy was shot and killed by the border patrol. He was caught with a group trying to illegally cross the border. When they were approached by the border patrol they started throwing rocks at the border guards. The border guards told them to stop. They kept throwing rocks. The border guards fired a few warning shots. The boy was struck and killed. The rest still kept throwing rocks, then ran off back into Mexico.
The US says it has the matter under investigation. Mexico has come out and said it "will use all resources available to protect the rights of Mexican migrants." Is that what what Mexico is calling illegal immigrants who break out laws now a days? What rights do they have? They are not citizens of this country...so what rights DO they have? Do they have the right to throw rocks at cops? Citizens of this country do not have that right.Shouldn't the rest in the group be arrested by Mexico for assaulting a police officer? I mean come on...it IS a felony to come into our country illegally...and it is definately a felony to assualt a police officer.
You attack a cop...they will use deadly force back. Especially with all the violance going on along the border right now. Our border patrol gets attacked a lot.
I agree it is sad that a 14 year old boy is dead. It is a shame. I feel bad for his family. But how can the Mexican government think it is OK that this kid was breaking our laws by entering illegally AND attacked a border guard? How can they excuse that kind of behavior? Tell me what you think?

"will use all resources available to protect the rights of Mexican migrants"
What "rights" are they referring to? And what exactly do they intend to do to "protect" those rights? Will they start using military escorts for illegal immigrants? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, oh PLEASE start doing something like this. give me a reason to go down there...please! I'd be more than happy to help defend that border.

lil, I agree this is tragic. But I also agree with you that Mexico is NOT being helpful when they want to place the blame here. Hey I have a crazy solution that just might work - keep your people in your country so that you can protect them! Oops - oh yeah, thats not working out too well either now is it?

The mexican government does not want us enforcing our immigration laws...so htey are not going to help our border guards...enfact they are going to do whatever they can do keep them from doing their jobs.

I think that probably thats exactly what the border guard was thinking when he fired the shot, illegal trying to sneak in ,,they got no rights in the country and thus not protected by the law,it ll be like shooting a dog, dangerous mindset, this seems to be more a human issue,i do think that the border guard in question needs to be transfered to some desk job coz unlikely he will be answerable to using deadly force, but a person like that is dangerous to have on active duty patrolling the border, taking of a life without threatening provocation can never be justified so this guy if he gets away wif it,may just think or snap, get some target practice in,and just feel like a trigger happy mood.

"taking of a life without threatening provocation can never be justified "
Are you serious??? "without threatening provocation" You don't consider what they were doing threatening or provocative? Throwing rocks (which has KILLED border agents of ours before) isn't threatening or provocative?
Tell you what, move to this country (legally please) and live on the border down there for a while, lets see what you have to say after that. Until then, you don't live there, couldn't BEGIN to understand how dangerous it is down there.

A lot of good the message seems to be doing ,it is not like this is an isolated incident, guards have been stoned before and they have shot and stunned and killed the illegals before ,and still they keep repeating the same thing. How many human lives does it cost to stem down the xenophobia.

I am tired of taking care of them too. We need to take a tough stand on Mexico and it's illegal citizens.

Yeah, I agree with you. The worse part of this is that many of those illegals were illegals in Mexico from Columbia or other south American countries. Mexican troops often escort illegals from their southern borders to the US border.
