Say first "I am sorry"

I have been married a long time, and it took me awhile to realize that sometimes saying "I'm sorry" will help defuse a quarrel, even though I feel that it is not my fault originally. If I can bring the quarrel down to a conversation, then I have a better chance of getting my point across. It really takes patience sometimes not to get frustrated and start to yell, which goes nowhere.

i'm not yet married, but if i will, then i will be the one to say i'm sorry no matter what problems will arise. i hope so. hehe

I was once told by an uncle, that for a good marriage to last, the one who should always apologize is the husband. That's what he does, and they are still married up to this day. In my own marriage, who ever is at fault is the one who say sorry.
