What is your problem?Missing your office mate or doing his work in addition? And what do you try to say about having your table neat?If you are tired and want to go home, come back tomorrow after taking good rest.Ask your boss to appoint another mate soon,so that you will not be bored.

Hi Cherwin, I have the same habit to get all the stuffs on my computer desk or office table tidied and decent I then would start my work. I couldn't concentrate on my work if seeing the messy stuffs. Therefore I prefer to take a short while to tidy the stuffs before get into my daily routine. I just wonder why there is still someone who could keep on working facing a big pile of messy files and some other document and stuffs
I usually would like to keep my table or desk neat and clean before leaving it after office hour. But sometime we might have other personal matters to busy with after office hour and have to leave in hurry. Anyway I would try my best to give it a thorough spray though leaving in a rush. I like to see it in its lively state the following morning
Happy posting and have a nice day

Hi Cherwin,
We make it a point that everyday before leaving our table we fix things up. Everything is in order/organize. This of course keep us sane the next day as we start again our work.
Your officemate must organize his things and have the proper endorsement of it before leaving the company. It's a pity that he's not able to practice being organize with things. i hope he can make it in his new job or else it will be a problem.
You will soon get over that feeling of missing your officemate as there are other ways that you can be of contact with him. For now take a deep breath and relax. You deserve a break this weekend! Enjoy!

and our working area also reflects the kind of person we are. it also speaks about what state we are and how we are dealing with life. unconsciously, we are what we do.
help from others is welcome but we can always start doing it ourselves.

Hi Cherwin!
I can understand how you feel because that's what we face daily in the office. A neat and clean table would not necessarily portray a job done well. And the opposite is of course true. But needless to say, just like you, I love my table neat and clean. The least, it gives a good impression and is not upsetting to see. And as you say it helps to relax the mind. The feeling of returning to a neat, clean table is good too. It helps by keeping a little neater and cleaner each time.
Be thankful if there is work to be done. If it is not, you would have to start looking around for another. Categorizing documents appropriately and have files for them does make storage and retrieval easier and more efficient. It helps feeling happier in the office.
Cleaning up your office-mate's table/place is just normal. And missing him is just temporary too. You can always catch him up if you want to and there would be lots to talk about then.

hi I am so lucky as I am retired and no longer thave to worry
about things like that at all. I worked in a library and we always were there two hours before opening to pick up the library and make sure nothing messy was left out on the tables. Sometimes the ones who worked in the evening were too busy shelving to clear up the tables so we had to
do that before opening the library.

Hi, Cherwin2010. I don't have a office at the moment. But, I do like keeping my work area neat and clean. I am more organized and I can concentrate on many things. I don't like having a messy desk, it makes me feel in a rush and confused. I hope that you can get some rest, you seem so exhausted. Take care.

yah, it is really nice to arrange all your things , just encase if you find some documents needed, you can find it immediately..but sometime it can make me stressful to see the table of my office-mate and it can bother me most.. she always find her papers and things around her table, and that can make me disturb always..

Look on the bright side. At least you'll be going home soon, right? :) forget about your officemate. It'll just ruin your mood to fix your office. It's better to keep smiling while fixing your stuff. :)

YOUR RIGHT! as of now while we are working together having arranging those documents and other papers we are always joking.. we always think that what we doing right now is just only for fun, to avoid no to think of tiredness and stress..after all we are the only one who benefits it..
