DRS - Discussion Rating System - do you use it to rate fellow members?

Mylot - Mylot, about the DRS - Discussion Rating System

I was wondering how many of you Mylotters use the + and - buttons to rate the usefulness and interest of discussions and responses on Mylot. I always rate reviews and responses and to quote the guidelines myLot members should rate discussions, responses, comments, and photos based upon quality and usefulness. We are very excited about the DRS and encourage everyone to use it. So are you a rater on here ?? For more information on the DRS go to this link http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq17.aspx#4

I use it... in a positive way. I am giving + and forget generally the -, except for off-topic flame and scammers trying to cheat members (and not always : some scammers are funny). In fact, there are weeks when I am not giving a -. Even if the faq encourages me to rate, I don't want to be a judge, and it is why I avoid to rate negatively : if a response is useless for me, maybe it is useful for somebody else. There is a large part of subjectivity, and I prefer in this case to don't rate.

I rarely use the '-' either, only if it is nonsense or abusive or offensive. I think I have only used it once.

Lol amen, karen! I never use that thing either for the same reason. Why hate, right? Only cos they have a different opinion or perspective of things? Never came across an abusive post or comment yet though thankfully so never had to even think of using that negative sign lol. Good day!

I give "+" all the answers because the person made an effort and wrote something useful or a personal opinion Answers to beat the game ...not react. But...here on myLot I was ridiculed by a gentleman He opened a topic,I answered and he wrote that the answer is not desirable but...he give me a "+" for "help" me in rating Then, I wanted to write something in my native language(what he must doing with his "+")but I refrained

Yes, I use the ratings and think they are good and everyone should use the system, as it helps improve the user's individual mylot rating as well as improve the quality of the site. Sometimes I forget, but I do try to rate them when I remember. The only thing that is annoying is if the rates don't take and you have to re-do them.

Yes I love rating others, but I only rate before I post a response, and I have yet to need to rate a negative. I guess it's because I avoid negative discussions? But even if I don't agree I think I would give a positive rating since everyone is entitled to an opinion, who am I to say their wrong? Right? :-) We all need to let it out or else it's going to fester. :-)
