I'm not sure that "stumbling block" is the right word, but I do think it can cause problems. There are couples who make it work, but most times it does not. There are issues with holidays when one religion observes it and the other does not. If there are children involved, and the parents don't agree on their religious beliefs, what do they do? Do the children recieve no religious training at all? Or are they pulled between both parents, forced to make a choice of which parent they want to go to church with? Some have taken turns with their kids going with them on alternating Sunday's. to me, this just causes confusion.
I guess this is why the Bible that I believe (My personal choice) to be the word of God, tells us that we are not to be "unequally yoked" I believe this is talking about those of different religions.
