I just started my own group on Facebook for my Road2Freedom website. I thought it would be a good idea to let my friends know about the process of creating a website as well as giving them the inside scoop of what they would find if they joined when i launched it. So have you ever started your own group on facebook? Why did you start one and what is about. Please no links. let's just talk

I have started a few groups, my "best" and most popular group reached some 9000 members. That might seems small to most but I was very happy with it. At the moment I am running 2 fan pages, one for a charity project my husband and I are doing and the other for a business I just started on the side. Happy MyLotting and best of luck with your group

For my old account, I have about 7 groups. Each of it has thousands of members. This make some people feel jealous, finally my account get hacked. They also want my friends, cause I've about 4910+ friends on my list. Most of them are very loyal with me, everything I do.They will do it too with pleasure.

you know how that goes. there will always be one or two or heck hundreds of people who will be jealous of you. but you have to go on despite all of that kind of drama! good luck

Yes, in the past when I was active in Facebook, I created a group there. It is a DIY cooking group. I made it because I like cooking. I hope to share cooking experiences with others. Unfortunately it seems no more people to pay attention to it. Probably I am the only one member in this group:) Now I am active in a social networking called Kaixin001. I made DIY cooking group and now there are nearly 1300 members in my group:) I love Chna

you have to make them pay attention. you have to keep it fresh. you need to update topics to keep people interested

i havent' tried it. i'm not really online that much so i don't have the time that a facebook group would probably require. there's been some talks within my friends about creating our own private group page, but i think everyone's too busy with their own lives to actually create one.

i would think if you are going to create one it's going to be for a reason. if you don't have time for one then that is understandable. i make sure i make time for it. I am trying to build a business

I haven't started any groups in Facebook...but I'm part of a couple of groups...one is Sanjeev Kapoor's cooking group...one of my high school group...and one on alternative education in India (I'm homeschooling my older son).

Yes, I have started a Facebook group for my high school class. It's a private group, and it requires invitation to join, as I'd like the group for us to discuss among ourselves only. I have not created any public Facebook group.

there's nothing wrong with a private group. as long as everyone likes it.

Hey Momma! Good to see you! I have started a group on FB. I started one for my High School's marching back, of which I am a 1992 Alum. I have 69 members now and, I probably get a new request about once a month or more. I started it around a year or so ago and am kind of proud of it. I have members from before my time in the band and those from after my time there. People can post pictures and leave comments. I also started one about being 16 when The Simpsons first started airing. LOL! Just so hard to believe I was only just starting to be able to drive when that show came on the air and now I am nearing 40 years old. LOL! I also started one about my subdivision and about how poorly people drive in here. I don't have many members for either of those groups. But, it is cool to have them nonetheless.

yes, i have started a group in facebook for our batch in Highschool. Facebook helped us to keep in touch with each other's lives. and during the trying time of our Alma mater, most of my batch mates were able to attend the gathering because of facebook.

I personally haven't... but my friend started one called "Hearing your favorite song on the radio is more exciting than on your iPod." In a couple days he got 1,000 people to join his group and he didn't check back for a month or two and when he came back, he had over 500,000. Pretty cool, huh? I'm thinking about starting a group on FaceBook, but I don't know what to title it. But my friend's group has right now... 506,039 Nice :)
