well considering they violated someone else's body and that person will have emotional and physical problems afterwards probably for life..then they should in my opinion get life..in my opinion anyhow.

rape is such a disgusting crime - not just because of the perversion of it, but also because of how it affects the person who the crime was committed against. People can always get over being robbed (not to diminish this crime) but being raped is an emotional crime that will stick with the victim perhaps for the rest of their life as it's so tramatic. Why shold the rapist get out of prison after just a few years for that? I think since it's such a serious crime it should be sentenced as a more serious crime

It depends on the nature of the rape. If it were statuatory or the result of the guy getting drunk and misreading the woman's intentions, a couple of years max. If it was an intentional violent rape, then they should never get out.

I believe atleast 10 to 20 years...I know some people might find this too harsh...but rape is a heinous crime and any person should be given the maximum punishment possible for ruining someone's life...

my daughter was attacked 11mths ago. and it is going to trial next week. the prosecuter is asking for a life sentence considering the violence of the attack. i think men who do this to women are the lowest of lows and they deserve to spend a long time in jail where maybe they will get a taste of their own medicine.
