Have you heard about/seen this thing? Here's a link to the Youtube video of it's TV spot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xf8GxkX8CdY&feature=player_embedded Apprently a japanese product, a sort of outfit that babies can wear so as they crawl on the floor, they mop it. What do you think of this? Do you think it's cruel? I'm not sure that I would let my kid wear it if I were a mom. I mean, I'm sure there's some health risks involved; if the baby's going to be wearing all that dirt, it's bound to find a way into her/his mouth.

That's actually not a bad idea. I've seen the socks people can put on and they dust the floors as you walked. I've also seen outfits for dogs that do the same thing. Makes sense. The kid's on the floor anyway. Might as well make him earn his keep. We have tile in our apartment's kitchen and carpet everywhere else. Obviously my 2 year old wouldn't be able to wear it on the carpet but I doubt I'd buy one.

And as for the dirt, that should be the least of your worries. Insects are in your home. Fecal matter is on a lot of stuff. I read on the news that washers have fecal matter in them. You wash your clothes in them. You wash your baby's blankets and clothes in them. What does a baby do with something new? Tries to eat it. So while your baby is gnawing on that clean blanket, it's really not that clean and they're basically gumming on poo.

Hi, olisaur. I don't think that this is a very good idea to have for a baby at all. It is just too much of germs that can get on a baby.. I don't even think that a baby should have to clean up. Any mess they will make should be cleaned up by their parents. Or, someone that is older enough to clean up. Having a baby on the floor is not sanitary at the least. What if something sharp gets attached to the mop fur then the baby will put it into their mouth. Then what then??
