Hi myLotters,
I was just wondering that how many of you are used to take nap at afternoon? I am used to take nap, I have to take, it relaxes my mind. After having around 1 hour nap, I feel that I am fresh.
After taking nap, I can do my work very efficiently. Do you take nap at afternoon? Then at what time? And for how many hours?

I always feel taking nap at afternoon when in the office and promise me that I am going to sleep on this weekend after luch but I break that promise. When I am at home, do not feel like sleeping in the afternoon. Its always office day when I feel like sleepy. There is no way I can sleep in the office :(

Work is not boring at all but I feel that only after lunch, a cup of cofee does good in this case.

Well I do take naps most of the days. Especially on the days that I have to do a lot of things ever since the early morning. Like you, I take naps so that I can recharge myself and freshen up my brain as well. One thing about nap that I'm not sure whether you noticed or not, after a nap, even our emotions will be reset. I mean we will wake up like totally anew, as in not easy to lose temper and can make judgments without emotional influences. Anyways I usually take a nap around 2 or 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Each nap will take around 30-45 minutes. Happy mylotting:)

I take a nap in the afternoon every now and then. Sometimes when I am studying in my room, I get stressed out and just need to lay down. Then I fall asleep. It feels great to take a break in the middle of the day. But even though napping is great, it's a little hard to fall asleep at night when you sleep during the day and then you stay awake all night and have less energy the next day. So I try to limit the naps I take if I need to wake up early but now since it's the summer, I can nap all I want

Oh, how I wish I could. But no I don't. I have an 18 month old son. When he naps I clean. And now that my almost 7 year old daughter is home on summer break, I have no time for napping. I barely have enough time for regular evening sleep.

Hi, with reference to your main question - yes, I do take a nap in the afternoon. But, that applies only during weekends. I see to it that for the 2 days weekend, I will take at least an hour for each day to have a nap.
However, this habit does not applies during weekdays, since, its very difficult to take a nap in our office, because, we are just given a half hour breaktime.
Thank you and Have a nice day.

for me, it's more like a power nap. about 5 minutes or so. i just lean back in my office chair and close my eyes..
it's almost guaranteed that i always have almost 5 minutes before someone comes in to disturb me with some work problem.. but that 5 minutes of shut eye is really really refreshing

I take at least 2 naps a day because I wasn't sleeping good at nights. Some of the naps are short like 5 minutes and some of them at least an hour and half. I love to nap especially when I am watching boring tv programs

yes because it helps me to relax and gain more energy. if you nap at least thirty minutes, you can help your brain to rest and relax, can also help your blood to relax and your muscle will reduce tension. so you should take a nap every afternoon. so that you will have enough energy when you want to do something especially if you have work, you can finish on your doing.

Usually I won't have a nap at noon as this short time break is not enough for me. I need to have a good sleep:) This is why I don't have a nap at usual. But in these few days I especially feel sleepy. I will have a nap after lunch.
I love China

Sometimes, I take an afternoon nap or something like that. It certainly does happen. However, I can't say that it happens very often. Personally, I prefer not to take an after nap. But I will if, let's say, I'm sick, not feeling well, didn't have a good night's sleep, or something like that.

Hi keval, I have no hard fast plan to sleeping in the afternoon. I tend to isten to my body, if I feel tired then I sleep whatever time of day it is. I am fortunate that I work for myself and working hours are flexible. So, if I want to sleep I do. Sleep in the daytime can vary from 20mins to 1hour. Like you, after it I feel so much more alive and energetic. I often wonder if workers were allowed an afternoon sleep would work efficiency double and employers benefit?
