Will virus affects computer hardware?

I 've encountered so many problems regarding virus,a lot of which affects the performance of my PC.When I tried to repair my PC, like i started to format it, it was working real fine, but later , my hardware like hard drive and RAM were damaged. is this the cause of virus????Please respond,Thank you...

As Harold said, it was probably not caused by a virus, and you probably need to update hardware since computer hardware degrades overtime.

In my opinion, since you already reformatted your harddisk, the failure of your hardwares was not cause of virus anymore. It may be your hardware is already old or already worn down. The life of hardwares is not forever, so it will also wear down when it reached it's limit. Virus does can affect hardware, as it can even explode your pc by making it overheat, but in your case, I guess your hardware failure may not be causes by virus. You better do hardware swapping for you to identify and really know what is wrong.

offcure it will effect so always use updated antivirus and keep ur system safe
