If given a chance to use a time machine what will you do?

There are a lot of things in my childhood that I would really love to do but wasn't allowed to - like playing under the sun/rain....climbing trees....have a sleepover. You know the simple things that I think are worth doing or experiencing. My parents were too strict then.
Just reminiscing and it just popped, what if you'll be given a chance to use a time machine what will you do? Will you grab the opportunity and go back in time? And if you do, what time will that be? Will you try to change history or something from your past? For me, I'll just go back to my childhood and enjoy these simple things even if it won't matter in my future or will it? Aside from that, I won't alter anything else.

Easy, I would go back in time, and discover the lands that were undiscovered, and start up my own Utopian country. Either do that, or go back a little bit, win the lottery about 5 times, do some other easy gambling to make billions, start up companies etc, invest in stock, then make billions, and buy my own set of islands and start my own country. That would be awesome.

I would personally fund mylot to give its riders 10 dollars a post, until a billion dollar fund was up, haha. I think it would also be fun to burn about a billion dollars, just to make a statement.

Yes lissa, i have so many doubts about this world formation, the beautiful sky, the beautiful nature, the oceans etc., and the most unanswered question is about GOD. All these i wanted to know from him, since he is the i feel who can answer for everything. And also about Jesus. I feel to show to this world the reality. But is it possible........

There are two places that I can think of that I would love to visit in the past if I had access to a time machine and they are Troy and Sparta! I'm thinking about all those Greek warriors and how they fought their battles, so much heroism, so much bravery!
This would certainly make a change from living in London in the year 2010! I hear that the women of Troy were exceptionally beautiful and I suppose I would perhaps like to find me a Tojan wife and bring her back to the year 2010! Alternatively I could remain in Troy and keep the time machine there with me and decide to travel back to the current year whenever I wanted! As you can see, I have quite an imagination!
There's no telling what we could do if only we had access to a time machine! It would without doubt make life that much more interesting. As well as visiting Troy I would also like to travel into the future to see what is in store for the human race! Will there be robots or androids or perhaps even cyborgs in existence? I love technology and I'm sure that the future is going to be very exciting.
On a realistic note though it seems that none of this is going to take effect as no one has successfully been able to create a time machine as yet! Is there anyone in the world, some boffin, working on the idea of creating a time machine right now? I hope so then all my dreams and the dreams of millions of others could then come true and be realised! Andrew

Basically, im a person who lives for the present so if i get a time machine i would love to go to the future not the past.. i don't think one needs to go back to the past to enjoy those simple moments of life .. these simple childish things can be done any time of the life span .. only you should not feel old and, feel shy or guilty ... life is very simple you can still live your past childhood without the time machine, just do it ... you will feel like a child.

If i have a time machine i will try my best to be back in the time where in my father still lives.I just cant wait to play with him again to tell him alot of stories that im sure he will be thrilled to learn. He wants me to be a priest one day but the thing is i became a engineer and im hoping that he will be able to understand me as well.And now that im all grown up already i have so much that i want to tell him , i want to thank him for all the good things that he did to me and all the lessons that he taught me in life. I just wish i was able to spend more days and years with him.Hes the reason now why im always inspired and always ready to face life once more my dad is my mentor and my inspiration i just want to go back in time and hug him once more.Dramatic yes but thats what i really want

Very emotional response setsuna. I know that everything you plan to do with the time machine comes down to a single purpose, to make your dad happy. He's definitely happy knowing/seeing that you still love and respect him. A proof that love goes beyond this lifetime. Tnx for your comment :-)

i guess i would do the same thing as you do. i wasn't allowed to do a lot of things when i was a kid. even playing in the streets with my neighbors was hard to pull. so you can only imagine how my parents would react to sleepovers. so, mostly i would end up having sleepovers instead of going to them. not that i didn't enjoy my childhood, i would just like to experience more. so i would go back to being a kid if i could use a time machine.

We are at the same boat allamgirl. I have tons of mistakes then, but I'm too scared to change my past too much, that it might alter my future (even if my present isn't really perfect. I have lots of difficult times, crying moments and things like that. But I like it just the way it is. And is thankful that I still have problems that are lighter than others have). As far as I am concerned, I think If I was given a chance to use a time machine, I think I will try my best to go back to my lost days. Maybe the first thing that I dream to do is that I will just travell all around the ancient days. Then I went to my own old days to do the things that I have not done or just wish to do at that time.

I thought I would probably love to be born another person. I would probably love to be born into another family.
But on second thought I just love the way I am. I love this wonderful family I'm born into. Just like you.
I hope a time machine would help me to travel into my past to correct some mistakes I've done before to help me reshape my thoughts and values I have today!

It will be very convenient to have a chance to correct our mistakes from the past. I thought of doing the same thing before. But then again this might just be our fate. I too love my family..... for what they are...perfect or not... it's what makes them special. Tnx for the comment :-)

I won't dare try to change anything. I made mistakes in the past, so what? Nobody's perfect. People commit mistakes. Though I really want to change some things, I also feel like I shouldn't.... If I change the past... I might not be able to meet the people I know now who are true to me and very good family and friends. I love the way I am right now and I don't want to change anything. So i guess I will just ignore the time machine... though tempting.

I would go back in my enters for oratorial contest of high school, I would give more courage for myself, that's a bad experience for me. if I have the most confidence in competition, I think I will win instead of can't fluent speech. I really so care it.

Our high school days were moments of triumph and defeat. Also been busy joining contests when I was in high school. Like you, there are times when I say to myself that I should have done this and that, which would make my chances of winning better. Realizing those mistakes molded me to do better the next time around and not to give up easily. Just believe in yourself, it's never too late :-) Practice makes perfect :-)

Maybe, just go and see the past to solve the world great mysteries, i will not disturb the past, because eventual will lead into future change. So just like hover about these hisorical events and see . For example , how they create great wall of china, how to create the Pyramids and such. Watch Alexander the great fighting the Persian and such, or go back to ancient greek , see their cilivation and such.

I think God doesn't allow that to happen to us. Long before scientist have studied that there is a way to go back in time through this vessel/machine to travel time. Our past have full of longing memory from our love ones but we need to move on in life so we can be strong and have courage to take whatever challenge in the future.

Well, I have always dreamed about going back in time. But ofcourse I wont like to stay there. I have always wanted to go back in the time of Jesus and see personally what he was doing and how he was crucified. I know seeing him in those times would really have a big impact in my life. I know that I would really love him more.

If given a chance to use a time machine, I would go back on March 30, 2005 where everything was perfect. From there, I will undo all the bad things, mistakes, decisions that I have done.

You have quite there Labea. I'm impressed that you can even plot the exact date. Our past they say serves as a memory bank that we can go back to as reference. They serve as lessons to help us avoid further difficulties in our future. Or even a provider of clues or puzzle pieces to help us solve our issues. I believe that you are able to stand to - today - because your past made you strong. Still,I pray that whatever it is that's making your life difficult to handle.... that you'll be given someway, somehow...the strength to face and solve them :-)

If i had the chance to use a time machine i will try to gain all the knowledge of the world :) I would go to every continent for every time and learn everything i can there until i move on to the next. While I am at that i would like to discover the point of life and what happens after life, since that is the question we all been searching for.

With such capabilities, you can attain with the help of the time machine, gaining all the knowledge there is... you'll make this world a very peaceful one. There won't be time for war and arguments....because you can provide the pro's and con's for everything or provide answers to every question there is. Good one :-)
