I would say either Blues or Metal. Preferably Southern Metal! Down, Pantera, and Lamb of God!

let me rephrase. Listen to metal if you are down and angry or angry about it. Listen to blues if you are really really down and depressed.

Surprising when Im real down I like to listen to Tupac. Tupac is an upbeat positives push about overcoming against circumstances, circumstances which drive boys into believing the power of instant gratification and girls worse believing it but yet not building a foundation.
I listen at some Luther if Im real down Il go back to some Commodores or Isley brothers.
I dont listen at the radio so I have to look up videos. It depends on my memeory and taste. Nut I believe I should start listening at the radio and do another form of mediation.

it depends. i like to listen to somethign that helps me vent when im down or angry. probably why i play in a metal band. i can hop up on stage and let all of my anger and sadness show on stage, or through the melodies in my songs and i dont have to worry about what peopel think, because there doing essentially the same thing, or i can convey the feeling and give them a way to deal with it in the future

I usually listen to happy music when I'm down. It works like an antidote or neutralizer. Positive versus negative.

I really like this topic that you just posted. When im sad or feeling down i always listen to sad music as well. Not that im looking for companion with the sad song its just that i channel my emotion with the song or the sad sound and somehow after hearing it over and over again it has this positive effect on me. When im totally angry or totally disappointed i just cant help it but to listen to alot of music. It makes me feel calm and lets me think more clearly about certain issues with music im able to judge the situation better and make critical decisions easily and effectively as well. You should try to listen to good music as well to appreciate the beauty and positive benefits that it will be giving you

When I'm down in a funk and there's nothing I want to do but get out of it, I force myself to listen to mainstream pop. Two evenings ago, my husband came home from work and found me singing and dancing around to Lady Gaga (and yes, that is extremely out of the norm for me). I was streaming Ke$sha, Britney Spears, RiHanna and all those other pop tarts on Pandora. Basically, I fake being in a good mood until it happens.
However, when I'm down and I want to wallow in my misery for a bit, I listen to Elliott Smith, my favorite album being "Either/Or". Sometimes I'll just put on some Bright Eyes ("Fevers & Mirrors" my given choice) and have a good old fashioned pity party and cry until I'm cried out.

There is actually one song I always listen when I'm down its Bad Day by Daniel Powter. For some reason whenever I listen to this song it really calms me down and uplift my spirit. I know that the song is about having a bad day that's why it can uplift you but there are other songs that has the same taught but this particular song really is like my charger. When I'm mad at someone this song also calms me down or feel less angry.
I also love listening to piano musics. The sound of the piano also uplifts me and it kinda help me meditate. The most recent piano piece I always listen is Bella's Lullaby from the movie Twilight. I'm not even a big fan of that movie but I really love that song.
