since wedding means starting to build a family, we usually give appliances such as oven toaster, rice cooker, or electric fan. things that can be used in daily living such as plates, glasses, etc.

I think it is absolutely a Great idea to give money as a wedding gift. Have you ever seen 'The Godfather'? In the beginning, at the wedding people put envelopes in the bride's silk purse. Envelopes full of money!

I have seen my parents give gifts such as a plate set , utility set and even an electric stove as a gift when I attended weddings. I suggest that if you're on a tight budget, you can buy sets of spoon and forks with plates. Most of it are boxed already so wrapping it will be easy if you won't pay for wrapping. I think it will be about Php 500 or less . Best wishes to your friend and best of luck to you.

I found out he best wedding present is money! I look at it this way; Everyone can use it. You don't have go around looking for something to buy.The bride and groom won't return it and they can use it for anything they want! It is also great to give if you have no idea what to give a couple and they aren't registered anywhere! That is what I would do and have done!

I have found that the best wedding gifts are those that you personalize. Make it personal! Once I got a picture off the web of my friend's family's coat of arms, printed it, then framed it. Be Creative.
