The Cartoon shows are much influenced on the children. My son is asking me to purchase gadget, so that he can escape from his homework because that gadget will finish his homework. Now summer vacation is over and schools re-opened. To avoid doing homework my son wants to take gadget help which shown in one of the Cartoon show. I am afraid that children are started living in imaginations and not in the reality. Share with me.

Now-a-days, children do imagine things they watch on the Tv to be true and realistic. I keep a watch over what he watches and try to explain my boy whenever needed, that they are just cartoon shows and they can never be real.

Hi keep_onwatch, it is true nowadays children do imagine things what ever they watch in TV. I always tell him those are only just for entertainment. You have see and enjoy thats it. He is telling if you can't give me i will try to make it myself. That is his answer. Now this time i wanted to take him to some exhibition and i will purchase toy gadgets if they available and show him so that he will be known what exactly it is. Thanks for your nice response. Have a wonderful day.

imagination is a necessary thing to cultivate. without any imagination, creativity might be stunted. in my opinion, you should encourage your son's imagination, but remind him of the difference between that and the reality of things..and then encourage him to come up with solutions to problems that he may see around him. keep on sharing, encouraging him and guiding him, and you might see some great results

Yes it is true, my niece who is only three years old once asked me to take her to school in a jet, when I asked how and why she said just like in the cartoon she was watching in the morning, it was really difficult to explain to her because I was a bit scared to break her imagination and her childhood too which believes in cartoons and fairy tales, I think they are affected to some extent while watching these cartoon so we have a duty to separate real from unreal to make them understand.

Hi med889, it is funny to hear of children words some time. Jet where we will get? yeah sometimes it will become difficult to make them understand, they will never hear, whatever they saw only they will believe. I always tell my son that is only for fun, its not real shows, don't get exited and feel to have the same. Thanks for your nice sharing. Have a nice day.

How old is your son? He may not actually really mean that he wants one as much as he would really really enjoy having something that would finish his homework for him. He is probably just using his imagination and being hopeful. There are plenty of times I wish I was Samantha on Bewitched or Jeannie on I Dream of Jeannie and could just wriggle my nose or blink my eyes and things I need accomplished will automatically be done, but, alas, I know it isn't so...still, it's nice to wish.

Yes I think that some TV shows or cartoons can put this imagination in our childrens eyes... but for us as parents we have to make sure that they are fully aware of what is true, and what is false. So children will understand that just because something is shown on the TV, it does not mean that it is something that can be bought, or used, it is just an entertainment thing.

Hi rosie230, Children are not known what is gadget actually, by seeing it they are thinking it is also existing which will help to them. TV shows are influencing a lot on the children. I used to tell him that is only a program to entertain you. Actually it is not real. You have holidays know so they are showing on TV just like that, i will convince my child. Thanks for your nice sharing rosie. Have a wonderful day.
