Suggestions on what brand of laptop to buy

Hey there I want to buy a laptop for my sister. She's an engineering student and she now needs a laptop for her studies. I'm not looking for a netbook since she needs something that is stronger or with a higher specs than that. My budget ranges from $500 to $600. What laptop would you recommend? Thanks!

you can check out the ? Dell Inspiron 13 or some low range acer laptops with a small screen size.

It depends on the specifications, but usually Dell is the best buy.

a budget such as that would fall into mid-range to entry level models, probably acer or emachines (under acer now), you can also try toshiba brand.

You can buy a Dell Vostro A360, it is a very good one but without webcam, you can always have a USB webcam in it.It is not too expensive too, maybe to have a vast idea you can check it on Ebay.
