I don't understand why MILs are this way. My MIL sure is a gem of a lady. Recently my friends'MIL suddenly left for her daughter's house, without reason. My friends'working and leaves her toddler under her MIL's care. She had to immediately take leave from work. Will her biological mother do this?

I think the question needs to be answered here, 'why did she leave'? I'm sure she had a good reason. i am a mil to two but it's not always the mil's fault that things happen altho they always seem to get the blame especially nowadays w/the way young women are. I was married twice & had two great mil's but i had a different attitude than girls do nowadays.

I feel something bad was said to her. I'm a grandmother & i can't see myself doing that unless something bad was said or done.

I also questioned my friend, Why did she leave? I asked her whether she 's being taken good care of. My friend said "yes we are taking good care of her". I feel that her MIL should have discussed with her son and DIL. She could have given some time to my friend to atleast apply for leave. My friend was not imposing her child on her.her MIL accepted to take care. If she had refused in the first place my friend would have put her child in a creche or would have not joined work. my friends'husband was also surprised on his mother's actions.

I guess the only explanation is that we live in a world of uncertainty - there are good and bad people out there, anywhere, and you just never can tell which one is which.

But why only MILs are bad.....all TV shows and movies depict MILs as bad lady. There are very few MILs who are very sweet. I am very grateful to my MIL. I do have friends whose MILs are good. but the bad ones are more.

Well in movies they just exaggerate the image but still the thinking is same that I have done a lot in my whole life now this is the turn of DIL and now I am retire she will going to do everthing for me as well as for family.

Hi. durgabala. Well if her mother-in-law wants to keep her toddler, then that is her decision. It is just not her duty or obligation to keep her toddler. If the mother-in-law don't want to keep her child, she should have said so. Leaving the house without reason, is rude. A biological mother will do the same thing too if she feels like she did not want to keep her daughter's child either. I just feel like each woman should tell the daughter that they don't want to keep their toddler at all.

It all depends upon the thinking and assumption of a women. Although all are not equal in the world but in practice it has beem seen that mother-in-law is not showing good behavior for their daughter-in-law. But there is no difference between these two except the difference in blood. This behavior can not be appriciated.

Well I dont think so that her mother can do this coz she is having blood relation and mostly all MIL think that now DIL has come so I am on leave for forever now she will do everything and I will just do rest for whole day long.
