From what I remember the voting is via the public and so you have to think what demographic watch MTV and would bother to vote. Obviously from the outcome the majority of those voting are in the demographic which thought Twilight was the biz. I didn't vote and wouldn't have voted for a Twilight movie because to me none of them are amazing movies, although in a strange way I found the first mildly entertaining.
Of course does anyone really care about the MTV movie awards and is it just an excuse to throw a big MTV bash which will make money.

i take that you are not a Twilight Saga fan, eh?
i have the same sentiments, how can Avatar lose over Twilight/New Moon. I loved the book when it first came out. However, when people swooned over it, i just lost my appetite for it. I felt (and still feel) that the Twilight Saga has been too commercialized that the value of the story and the book is already over-rated.
i have a slight idea how a movie is made and different techniques. And the movie is done quite brashly. I know that they stars are paid really well, but i hope that hey spent more on the production and editing. One more, they could have had the actors attend acting classes. I wasn't too impressed on their acting skills. for me, they all are amateurs.
the production has to be very thankful for the reception of the mass towards such a lovely and different story. cuz if this is just your regular vampire-inlove-with-a-human film, it would just drain down the sink.
now, about the landslide wins on the different categories, it's always the viewers' choice. the people loved it, voted for it...and their winner was delivered.

the sad thing is, the sequel i.e New Moon didnt even get good reviews from its loyal fans..yet it ends up being the most popular film in the show..
and the actors i completely agree with you..Kristin Stewart with her weird expressions is soooo annoyinggg..she has the same expression thruout the trailers and even in the awards show she acts as if she is the Next Meryl Streep !! God im so pissed ...hahah

hmmm..don'think about MTV Movie Awards that seriously. I mean come on, even the category title itself is a joke (best kiss, best fight, best wtf moments, best badass)..The award is based on public votes and Twilight is very popular among the tweens who are the main demographic target of this event. I even think that if Twilight didn't win, it may show bad signs for MTV that the teenagers had left this TV channel....

MTV movie awards are NOT about quality or srtistic style in film, I think that's pretty obvious; it's what's popular and what MTV viewers vote for.
That said, I am a Twilight fan and I did think New Moon (the movie that won all the stuff this year) was pretty weak, but at the same time I think haters need to shut up and get over it- if you hate it so much, why waste your time talking about it?

The same reason why Justin Bieber, the Jonas Brothers and Lady Gaga are so popular in the music business.
