We may have heard or read about hypnotherapy and how it has been applied to modify a subject's/patient's condition. I'm more for it.
Do you believe that hypnotherapy can change one's 'behavior, emotional content, and attitudes, as well as a wide range of conditions including dysfunctional habits, anxiety, stress-related illness, pain management, and personal development.' Ref: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypnotherapy
Have you had or do you know of anyone who has had hypnotherapy?
If you have had hypnotherapy, has it changed you?

My mum had it once to help with her depression. I would like it to see what I am really thinking so it could be a step to help my depression.

Thank you but yeah I don't know if it helped her for the good. I mean, all it did was help to see what was really on her mind. Didn't completely heal her which sucks.

Hypnotherapy was once said to be effective in recalling events that the brain missed to recall during your conscious or awake. Perhaps there might be difficulty in performing hypnotherapy, because once you got it all wrong, you don't know what will happen to the person.
Some also say it is unethical to do such, because the one who is performing the hypnotherapy is totally in control of the other person when he's already hypnotized. We definitely don't know what the other person is doing to the person being hypnotized.
Perhaps this mode of therapy is also a means of releasing emotions and freeing a person from a bandage of the past...

@ richnai!
I'm glad to hear your personal experience, one who has actually gone through a hypnotherapy. Sir, do you mind sharing your personal experience on what you have gone for and do you think it has worked? What do you think works best for hypnotherapy and what doesn't and why?
Thank you so much for sharing!

Hey tomi! I don't know for sure if I believe in Hypnotherapy or
not! I don't believe that I could actually be hypotized, but
would love for someone to try! If it would be possible it sure
would help me in alot of areas in my life like helping me stop
smoking, and maybe help me with my Insomnia! I would love for
someone to give it a try! I don't know anyone who personally
has been hypnotized so I can't speak from personal experience!
So I have to try and remain objective!

Depends on how you think it will or should "work" for you. If your main goal is to relax, then yes, Hypnotherapy can be one of those things; kind of like a "mind massage".
But if you wanna quit smoking or something like that? Hell no. That part of Hypnosis has long been dismissed and sent off via cuckoo train. It's one of those "if you believe in it, then yes it will work for you" things. Kinda like Santa, or the Tooth Fairy. If you believe it and you're happy... clap your hands! I'd coin this phenomenon as the "Santa Effect", and you read it first here! Interesting topic, ++ to you! Good day!

I've had hypnotherapy actually but not the kind with the pendelum. It came with the laser treatment I was getting because that time I was in a lot of physical pain and my doctor said, I needed to relax. He put an apparatus on me and, I saw swirls and psychedelic colors that came with some music. I don't think it really worked perhaps because I could be such a cynic at times, what worked however as answering all sorts of questions to get to the root of my anxiety and my bipolar tendencies.

Hi myswirlyagelessmind!
Your response is always appreciated here. I've been thinking about it for sometime and seriously thinking which kind I should be learning should I decide to pursue.
Just like you I could be such a cynic too. What do you think would work best for the kind of hypnotherapy you have gone for and what doesn't and why?
Thanks again!

I haven't tried hypotherapy myself, but I have thought about it, because I have some phobias that I haven't been able to overcome. I don't know if hypotherapy would help me, but I think that it is worth a try. One of my mother's friends has tried hypotherapy some years ago. She also had a phobia, I don't remember which phobia it was, but hypotherapy really helped her, and she got rid of her phobia.

well for me hypnotherapy can be bad or good for you. it is a fact that if you can add something in your subconscious it can change your life for better or worse.
even if i don't believe it can heal you physically, it can be a help mentally

Hypnotherapy is a therapy which helps in giving changes in your life. But, only thing that you need to ensure is that you need to look for the hypnotherapists who have vast experience in the same field with good customer feedback.
I have been using balanceforlife.biz for the past 3 months and I am feeling a lot of positive different in myself. Therefore, if you have right hypnotherapist they helps in solving problem in your life.
