i have worked with a few dog rescuses and i love dogs , i love animals dont get me wrong . but i am wondering with hiking prices up to 3-4 hundred a full grown dog, this hurts them not many people have the money to pay that or are willing , so they go and get a pup from a backyard breeder and keep the cycle going with dogs still homeless

Hiya brandy,
I don´t know the actual price of buying a Dog at the moment here. I know it´s not cheap either. There are still Backyard Breeders but not too many as most of us live in Flats so there is not much space either.
The fine for abandoning your Dog is 15,000 Euros here but I don´t know if anyone is really fined that much and if they have ever been caught.
I cannot have Dogs as they don´t let us have any kind of animal as the Flat is Rented.
I love Dogs too and have seen the awful things People do to them.

i have no ideal what 15,000 euro's is? is that alot of money? wish there was more landlords that would let people have pets, but due to bad pet owners thier are less and less animals allowed in homes.thanks for your response.

At those prices people will be going after purebred dogs. Good thing it isn't that expensive here or our rescues would never get rid of any dogs. I think the cost here is like $100 and it covers the spaying, microchipping and shots.

The prices are high but here it includes their first round of shots, the cost of spaying or neutering, the license fee, and the cost of the micro chip. We also get a free first vet visit with certain vet clinics. When you think about it, all that stuff would cost a lot anyway. But getting a new pet will cost you when you include the cost of food, toys, and other things too. Having a dog ain't cheap no matter what. But I'd much rather get my dogs from the shelter (as we have the last 3 times) than from a breeder.
