How have you planned your life?

I planned to get married at the age of 30. It happened. I planned to have a kid a year after marriage. It happened. I planned to have a car three years after marriage. It has not yet happened. I planned to move to our own house after five years of marriage. It still has not happened. I got married in 2005.
I don't want to think that I suck at planning and achieving what I had planned. I would like to think that everyone has his own time in achieving what they planned in life.
Its just that I am getting bored waiting for it to happen. Life has his own time, doesn't it? How about you guys? Has everything that you planned, happened the way you planned them?

i believe life happens according to God's plan...at least for those who believe that there is a God who has designed everything that's in it...we do make plans... i did a few years back..some of those did happen...others have not come to reality yet...nonetheless, i believe that if it is according to God's will it will happen whenever and however He wants it. there is something called "permissive will" though..Anyone remembers the story of Jonah who was sent by God to warn the city of Nineveh of the consequence of the people's transgressions. God allowed Jonah to be swallowed up by a whale when on his way to Nineveh he decided he would not continue on his journey. In the end, God's will prevailed when Jonah realized his mistake and repented. In the end, he brought the Ninevites to repentance as well. In the same way, God allows us to plan and realize these plans (as long as they are "again" according to His will). There might be diversions, humps, u-turns, shortcuts, or whatever you'd want to call it, still the journey will lead us to God's perfect will.

I totally agree with you. 100%. Sometimes when I feel down and bored because everything seemed to be in slow motion, I just lift everything to God. I let him do things his way for me. In that way, I feel more calm.

reminds me of Mike Murdoch's (notable speaker, gospel song writer, author of hundreds of books, etc.) message which he aptly summed in a statement as "when fatigue walks in, faith walks out." life is really simple but man's desire makes it complicated and that's the time when one, because of too much striving, reaches his limit and becomes worn out and feels like everything is going out of hand...it's only by the grace of God that we are given the fortitude to "trust His heart."

Unfortunately not, there is nothing in my plans happened the time I want them to happen. It is so sad that I am suck when it comes to planning. I am not good in planning. Because I just notice it that if I am going to planned it, it will not happen it will happen the opposite thing. Others would say that I am sabotage my own plan. So better yet not to plan and come what may. That is what I am doing now come what may.

Sometimes, we Filipinos are like that, we don't plan and just wait for something to happen. Come what may, que sera sera, isn't it.

AS the song goes.. yeah its que sera sera... It would have been good if all the plans have been implemented and we have a control of everything. But its not always like that. I guess its not only filipinos who have that kind of attitude most of the people around the world dont plan their life much. Sometimes they dont even care to give a minute and think what is going on with their life. Just as long as they have food to eat and job to pay their bills everything will be ok.

I think the trick is to enjoy the ride. Do not wait for it to make it happen. Act on it. As it is often said. "Life is what happens when we are busy making other plans." In my case, I did not make plans about getting married. I think it is happening because I am still single. Hahaha! I planned my working from home a few years ago and it is happening now. True. Life has his own time.

Good for your that it is happening now. Probably I get to be distracted by detractors that my plans get delayed. By the way, how do you work from home?

So we really don't suck at planning. It's just that, our time is not the right time. Let's just lift everything to God so that our plans will be blessed.

I think many people have grandiose plans and many of those who succeed in realizing their plans with the current, but also many who fail to fulfill their dreams.
I have plans to marry at age 25, but until now had 30 years of age are not married. But God gave me a trial, where I lost all that I have and until now I could not get up. I've been trying with utmost to try to get up, but have not succeeded.
Finally I surrender to God. Surely by trying and praying that all dreams can come true.

I hope whatever trials you are in right now, you will be able to surpass it. God works in mysterious ways. We never really know what really his plans are, but leaving it up all to Him is the right way to do it. Good luck and keep your head held up high.

Yes we don't have control over our plans, sometimes we can't insist on getting our way because it jeopardizes our plan even more.

Hi Aileen,
I actually have never been a big fan of plans. I planned on moving out of my parents as soon as I graduated highschool and being independent one way or another. That was my biggest life plan and I did it. I took the long scenic route but I have no complaints. Life has been interesting for sure. I'm sure if I planned things out better and did all that everyone said I "should" do, I'd have had an easier less bumpy ride but I'm not so sure it would have been as fun and interesting. Planning leads to expectations which lead to disappointments.

When i was young i had so much plan about my life.
but,it doesn't happen as i wanted it to be.
It is good to plan for future references, and it is not bad to plan either.
Having dreams, and plan for tomorrow is a good thing.
And,to achieve what we have plan needs a lot of patience,hardships/hardwork to make it happen.
There are things in life that we never plan, but happens beyond our control.

I like the saying "Life has its own time."
I want to make plan in my life ,such as getting married and has baby before 30 and it's better that I can travel abroad before 40.If we planned ,then it can make us work hard for it but at the same time it may give us much pressure .
So just keep your plan in your mind and work hard .
Wish your plans can come ture as early as possible!

Thank you for your kind wishes. I really hope my plans and your plans will all come true. Probably not in our time that we want it to happen, but in God's time.
