I don't agree that point.
Perhaps, when telling the truth which will enhance the relationship with your friends or other persons.However,sometimes, it will destroy it.
When your friend dressing not properly attend an important interview with other officials,if you tell the truth which will hurt her heart more and influence her following behavior.
Therefor,tell the truth is not the best choice.Especially for your sibling,parents, brothers ,telling the truth more depend on the intent which you want to be.

i didnt think so.tell the truth always because it will definitely help you.otherwise when the person had aware of the truth she/ he will began to ask you that why didnt you point that out and dont think about the after effect of the truth. always tell the truth because always truth will win

We all know how girls like to hear they are thin and even if they hear it they say i'm still too fat. So if your gf would have just a kilo extra weight would you tell her you are a bit round if she asked? I rather say you're not fat because she really isn't chubby and see know how insulted she'd be.

I would prefer to tell that truth that leaving my conscience guilty for not telling the truth.
Your friend is about to see some officials,and she is not properly dressed,so,you let her being looked awkward in the eyes of those people.
Telling her the truth might hurt her,but,isn't more shameful when other people are looking at her and laughing at her back for having dressed improperly?
True friends is telling the truth how much it hurts,as long you are saving her from any humiliation.

Maybe humiliation on the other person is more hurt than awkward when telling the truth.

Int he example you give here I thinj it would be better to tell your friend the truth about the way he or she is dressing if you think it is not appropriate for the situation.
I do think there are circumstances when it is better to tell a little white lie, but in my case it is usually to stop an argument or dissagreement with someone.
