Good Antivirus and Internet Security

I was earlier using McAfee Total Protection but it didn't work for my pc. Now I am using the trial version of Kaspersky but it slowed down my pc a way too much and its update service is also very annoying.
Which Security software would you suggest me to use? Please tell me the pros and cons while suggesting me one.

i agree... i also use Avira and i haven't found any virus destroying my system cause it blocks all virus it detects..

I had a virus on my computer and had to totally wipe the hard drive clean. And I was using anit-virus software. Now I use AVG it's free but you can also purchase an upgrade. I haven't had any problems and the only time it slows my computer down is during a scan and that's not too badly.

If you dont want to slow down your pc because of an anti-virus just use the AVG Anti Virus, because it is the lowest resource using and the best performance giving anti-virus.
Also it has a user friendly interface.
Regular updates which is the most important.
You can disable the anti-virus anytime and it does not annoy you.
