recently i heard a interview of a boy who is only 14 years old,and this guy never used to attend any school,as,he detested them completely, and he got through iit at this tender age itself.it's true that todays schools are fashioning the person for the future, but, dont you think that schooling ruins a person, and replaces the natural insticts of a person with an artificial one, wont we gain much if we could be left alone to learn, whatever little we learn it would be a great deal because we could learn it from it's base and there wont be any scope for any rote learning and also there wont be any peer pressure, with the coming of internet,i do think that the role of schools should be lessened and role of schooling should be limited to mentoring only, what a joy would it give to a person who can study the calculus by age of 10,and he would know what is really calculus?todays schooling world has induced an artificial sense of aura and most of the schools have introduced a notion of false competiotion which can be pretty harmful for the growth of young kids this kind of ambition can be pretty harmful!

well it is true that we needed schooling but its also true that it creates harmful competition. I think what they need is a balance of achievements and learning.
but it is also harmful without any kind of schooling.
well in this environment it is not enough to just know how to read and write.

i wont say that schooling is not necessary but i would like say some thing about the present situations that the students are overcoming.....
u see the one whom we are very eager to see or to talk is one nothing but sachin tendulkar..... every one knows about him the fact is that he had failed in his education or schooling.. but now his autobiography is the first lesson for 8th class students...
i dont mean that every one have to be like that.... on those days schooling is like an another home where teachers acts like father and mother....
but now a days our schooling becomes worse... the key role playing in schools is
hard word... only hard work.... not concentrating on knowledge, they want result in state wide thats all.... it became an business....
before talking about schooling we have to concentrate on students

nothing is schooling if you think that what i am doing is right. but the only thing you need is the guide.
Schooling is not only the way learning something. just spend some time with the people around you or old people...thats more enough than what you carry in weights to school.

ya man you said the correct thing , actually todays students are leaded to compete with others . according to my concept it is not nice to lead them through this way .As now there are much more resorces avilable for learnig such as internet and wikipedia why should one go to the school and . waste their time , but there should be one person to lead them , so if parents are well educated they could make them achive this goal . any ways your thinkings are really good . i appreciate it ...

Hi rog
Well i think schooling is important.
Without education we cant be able to move forward.
Maybe that kids got some talent but not all of us have that kinda stuff.
Anyways just my opinion.

I am in a 3rd world country where education/schooling seems to be one of the ways to at least have a better future. For us here, without education/schooling we cannot have a better chance of succeeding. It's true there are a lot of success stories where people did not really need any formal education to reach their status nowadays however, not all people are like them. Not all have the determination and drive to be on their own and do things that are beyond what is expected of them. Please dont get me wrong as I totally understand where you are coming from. Its just that Im speaking in terms of where I am right now. We do have a lot of choices now on which school to enroll as more and more schools are now updating their curriculum so as not to spoon-feed the students. Its true though, what you said about the role of school being limited to just mentoring only. We are all entitled to discover life in our own ways and not live life based on how we were taught in school.

Well, you can't expect children to pick up writing or arithmetic all on their own...they at least need a caring parent, sibling, or other person to teach them the basics. However, I do agree that people can ultimately learn more by following their own interests, and that is especially true today thanks to the Internet. Schooling is designed to make sure everyone gets some smattering of education, though, and it does accomplish that meager task. It's difficult for kids in some situations, like those who are in an abusive household, to learn independently because their families may be a hindrance to them instead of a support system so I think schools help much more than they hurt such children. Maybe a system where the unmotivated kids attend more formal classes while the motivated ones are allowed more freedom to pursue their own path would work better.

hi.. here in my country schooling should be for the children cos that is one way of success and here we can choose on what schools our children will go ... a poor country like mine ignorance leads to poverty and being a parent i cannot let my children grows nothing as an individual and nothing as a citizen of my country.. thank and hope u take this as my own opinion roger.. have a nice day!
