if you go look at your friends list, you will see that notifications are "on"
Mylot now defaults to the "on" and if you don't want notifications from your friends, you have to go in and turn them off
you don't control your friends seeing you start discussions, that's up to them, if they want to have their notifications "on" they have them on, like I do, but some don't want their inboxs full of mylot notifications and they turn them off and then get online and look at discussions their friends have started - like I have to when I can't access my mailbox
if you want to turn someone off, because you want to keep them as a friend, but not get your mail box full of their discussions, you can turn them off and still get everyone else's notifications...

When you start a discussion all your friends who have the notification on will get a email Each time you write a post.

You and a few others of my Mylot friends have helped me out on this! I figured out how to do it and have sent all my friends 2 discussions I started! It makes me feel pretty good I can do more on MYlot then I was!
