My computer sits in front of a window. Yesterday morning i was sitting here & saw my neighbor trying to run down the truck that picks up limbs etc. I got so tickled, here she was in her gown going down the street.I called her later & told her to tell her husband if she had to chase garbage trucks he wasn't doing his job. She just cracked up. After her doing that they wouldn't take the limbs. . Do u have good neighbors like i do that u can call & tease like that?

Hi AL,
I live in the country so only have 2 neighbors. One that lives next door there is a row of trees between us so I can't see what they are doing. My daughter lives across the road and I am always calling her and telling her what her girls are doing, (they are older now) or calling and telling her her dogs are in the front yard, they don't belong there. She probley wishes she didn't have such a 'tattle tale" living across from her!
I remember when my kids were little and my neighbor was an older woman, she would set in her window with binoculars and watch my kids play and call me if they did something wrong...Took me the longest time to figure out how this 80+ woman could see them kids that far away! One day I was there and seen the binoculars laying on the table then I knew! To me she was their 'guardian angel'.... I never had to worry about what they did she would tell me, of course they never knew exactly HOW I knew they were jumping out of the top window in the barn! Or that they had just pushed their sister down into the mud puddle, etc.

I don't have any binoculars, lol. It's good that u felt that way about the lady doing that alot of people wouldn't have. I don't even know if i would have myself. I'm sure she meant well & was alot of help to u. Bet your kids thought u had eyes in the back of your head to, lol. U seem to be such a good natured person, i admire that u always seem to see the good in everything. That's a great trait to have.

I miss her. She was a very sad old lady, her family had all passed on and she was alone and we kind of adopted her. I took her shopping, she was also a lot of help to me!!! Once when my youngest was probley 2? I had been working out in the yard all day, and had gotten hit with sunstroke (bad!!) I sent my oldest over to get her and had her take the 'baby' home, she wanted to know if I wanted her to do anything else and I said "call the neighbor and tell her I won't make the fall festival tonight" I was "OUT" for 3 days that is the last thing I remember! She had my baby and I went to bed!!!!! (that 'baby' is 30 now!!!!)

I bet u do miss her. I have had some older friends that i did that hair for years that were alone &i checked on them & took them places & they are about all gone now but i think of them often & miss them to. U can really get attached to people. I'll tell u who i also miss & that's my 'bigmama', my last grandmother. She was my rock & i have been lost w/out her.

What a funny sight to see, I bet. I actually have one neighbor that I can call and tease, and she will do the same thing with me. Only problem, my husband can't stand her because she's overly friendly. Sometimes in his eyes it seems like she tries to butt in on things. I have teased her over a thousand things. I think it's good to have neighbors like that. It makes a neighborhood more fun to be in.

He doesn't care that I talk to her and vice versa. It just irritates him on some of the things she does. He doesn't see her like I do. Like when she just walks in our bedroom to show him something. When her boyfriend came over to look at the dryer outlet. Small things like that. So, I can see where he gets upset. I just over look the small stuff. Life is to short to stress out over things that small.

i must be honest, i am so puzzled, 'limbs'? i have visions of your neighbour running after a truck waving legs and arms. Sorry i just have. sorry to hav misunderstood the posting. but back to the discussion, i have brilliant neighbours, although i must admit the young guy who lives next door makes lots of noise and there is yelling and shouting late at night, BUT in essence he and his mates have to let off steam after working hard (i suppose ) but there is never any harm done. So good neighbours all the way round,

Hi Antiquelady! I have some neighbors that I can have fun with
and then I have one that I honestly, along with the rest of
the neighbors would have gladly liked to put into the garbage
truck herself! So, mostly we have nice neighbors, but there is
always one!

U don't have to apologize , Opal for saying that. I thought it was quite cute. I have had a few like that myself. That is sad when one person is so unhappy or whatever she is to put it off on everybody else. There was a lady my son just despised when he was growing up that lived down the street here, he still doesn't like her to this day. She's in the nursing home now. She has no children & every time a kid got in her yard just to get there ball or something simple like that she'd call the cops.I feel sorry for hateful people like that. Thanks for responding. Hope u have a good sunday. hugs.

Excuse me Antiquelady, I realize my comment was quite out
of character for me, but there is someone who lives here
that has bothered every tenant in the neighborhood since
I moved in and she is really an evil person. Sorry, but
I am very honest and straight forward and it is true and
she knows how I, and alot of others feel about her and
just doesn't care!

For the most part, we have excellent neighbors. My husband teases some of them all the time. It is usually not my nature to tease. When I do, my husband, the jokester, thinks I'm serious and gets his feelings hurt.

Good morning, I'm glad u have good neighbors. I have always been to carry on & tease to but i have been teased all my life. When i was a child i would get my feelings hurt when people teased me & my dad told me if they didn't like u they wouldn't tease u. I have tried to remember that always. Tell hubby to loosen up, lol. I have seen people that could tease but couldn't take it when the shoe was on the other foot, lol.

Yes, I have neighbors like that and what a pleasure it is to live around them. At the moment, however, none of us are joking as one's granddaughter, who is only three years old has a horrible infection that won't go away. She's going in the hospital in a couple of days for extensive tests.
Please keep her in your prayers, so my dear neighbor can laugh again.

Good morning , thanks for responding. I sure hope the little one gets o.k. , how sad when children get sick. It still bothers me so much when my sons feel bad & they are grown. best wishes to her & prayers that she will be better soon.

That's so nice. Im afraid I dont have that type of relationship with my neighbors. We only say "Good morning/afternoon" in Japanese whenever we see each other in the apartment building. I would have loved to chat with them as there are some who are stay-at-home moms but there is this big language barrier between us. I cant speak Japanese and they cant speak English. Wish I could speak Japanese so I can get to know them.
