A woman was shopping at a mall, and while she was there someone stole her purse. She was upset, but she couldn't do much about it, so she reported the incident and went home. She picked up her spare key in the garage and opened the door. 5 minutes later the phone rang and a voice told her that her purse had been found and that she could pick it up at the mall. She hurried back to the mail, but when she asked the staff they didn't know what she was talking about. They haven't found her purse and they hadn't called her.
The woman was disappointed, she went home, and when she opened the door she discovered that her valuables were gone. The person who had stolen her purse had found her address and her keys inside the purse and had made a fake phonecall to get her out of the house.

First, I feel sad to hear that and I hope it was only a story.
I found that I am stupid that I did realize it was wrong for the woman go back to the mall to pick up her purse. Maybe I would make the same mistake if I hadn't seen this post.
But fortunately I never put my keys and purse in the same pocket. I think it's dangerous to do so.

she might be so scared and tensed then that she was not able to ask for help about this. she should ask some more details from the caller to check the authenticity of the call. for now, she just have to accept the fact, learn the lesson and move on.

Hey these types of pranks have really been on rise. A couple of days back we got one email at the office that we should take some extra precaution while talking on phone simultaneously doing some other work. A person in our office itself though in some other location had been pranked in a very similar fashion and was asked to switch off his cell phone. Since the person was in a hurry he followed the steps the stranger asked him to do. Though he claimed to be a call centre guy he was some person in a plan to demand ransom from the family members of him.
Though the situation was normalised by the quick understanding of him and nothing could be deciphered about the caller, the fact remains to be understood , are we in some sort of serious danger in this electronic world, as phones can make whole family tensed if it remains switched off and a kidnapper plays a prank in the same case.

Hi nurenu and welcome to MyLot!
It is also my impression that there are many pranks like that. We have to be careful in order to avoid that kind of situations.

Woah, that's really messed up and scary. You have to feel bad for the woman. First her purse then her valuables. People these days can be very untrustworthy. I know that the lady was probably too relieved thinking that her purse was recovered but if I was in her shoes I would have called the mall back to verify that they had my purse before heading back. But it's really scary knowing that some complete stranger has your information and even your house keys like that.

I think that she was so relieved and happy to hear that they had found her purse that she just hurried back without thinking much about it. I would also have tried to verify the story first, but I guess this woman simply trusted the person who made the phonecall. It is scary to know a stranger has your address and your keys would definately change the locks straight away if it happened to me, because I would very worried about my safety.

Double unlucky day, we really should be careful on strangers now a days. I lost my wallet too while ridding in a public transportation. My bag was on my back and I felt someone is pulling it, I didn't give it a look until I am looking for it for the fare, and its gone.

I also think that it is scary. When I first read the story I thought that it had a happy ending and that the woman was going to get her purse back, but instead it got even worse. She didn't only lose her purse and she also lost the things inside her house.
