So I live in Florida and I have an annual pass to almost all the parks except for Disney (expensive). I have 2 annual passes for Universal Studios and Islands of Adventures. One was for me and one was for my ex. I kept the tickets because I still went and since they never check ID sometimes I bring a friend. Since I haven't gone in a while I was just going to cancel the tickets and since regular tickets are at a decent price. Little did I know the ticket prices have increased!! Before a Florida resident can get a 2 day 2 park ticket for about $75 now it has increased to $130!
It must be so hard for families to take their children to these parks because of the prices. Can you imagine a regular middle class family of 4? It would be $500 just for tickets, not including parking, food, hotel, etc. Do you still plan on going to theme parks even though the prices have increased?

We'll I think almost everything in this world increase its prices. And it was really hard for us poor countries to adopt to increasing prices in the market. I am still lucky though because my mom still does the hard work for us.

We out on the other side of the nation - near Disneyland, CA. I don't even want to look at Disneyland admission prices anymore - they continually go up!! It's worth it to get a pass for some families, but I have a 5 year old who is nearly starting school and a 7 month old who probably couldn't enjoy Disneyland just yet - so it wouldn't be worth it for a family like us (just yet). We don't live far from Disneyland, but it's not close enough that we can or want to go there often anyway. About 2 years ago when it was just the 3 of us, we did the 2fer1 deal (Disneyland one day, California Adventure the next) and that was doable, but it wasn't cheap as we stayed at a hotel and had to eat and all that. Even with discounts, it all adds up. We do want our kids to go to Disneyland, but it won't be this year . . . and I cringe at how much it will be by the time we do go. You bet I'll be looking for the best discounts then!

Actually around here the prices have really decreased. Six Flags Great America which is really the only big one at this half of the state is doing anything it can to get people to come. They are offering buy one get one free tickets and everybody pays child prices tickets. I think the amusement parks are struggling. I think the prices where you live will go down drastically once they realize people can not afford to pay those high prices and their parks are empty.

I don't go to theme parks, because I too old for that. I don't have any children yet, so I have no certain need to visit these places. However, if I was a regular visitor of a theme park, I would switch my theme park to a cheaper one, in case my favorite one would raise the prices. By the way, a new theme park has been recently built in my area, it is told that it is cheaper than the old one, but has the same variety of different rides. So I am starting to think if that would be a wise idea to go and check that place out.

That's really troubling! I have (or had) plans on bringing the kids there next year. They've enjoyed Disney and Universal in California last year, so I am trying to save up for Florida. Plus we wanted to check out the new Harry Potter attraction.
These increases may just mean I have to postpone our trip to 2012, if I can't save enough for next year.
