Have you Befriended an old teacher on FB?

So I look on classmates.com once in a great while and I find my 7th-8th grade music teacher on there listed in our "graduating class" from HS?!?! Now he's the only teacher on there...
Now he's on FB and he's befriended several of my schoolmates. I know he was like 23ish when he was our teacher wich would make him about 10yrs older than us.
I dunno WDYT? I know we're all grown and have families of our own. He's on both those sites where as none of the other teachers are.... except another BUT that's because he's the father of one of my schoolmates who was also our teacher and coach too.
Would you find that peculiar? or just me?

I do have my former teachers from grade school and high school on my facebook friends list. There are even my professors from the University (with Ph.D. degrees), and I am glad to find them using Facebook, at least we got another avenue to reconnect with each other and updates and reunion invites are not that difficult to organize nowadays.

As a teacher myself, I love facebook etc. I would never add a current student for the obvious reasons but there are definately some ex students that I would be pleased to keep in touch with, find out there successes and maybe even offer advice if I can. So go for it!
