Not in my wildest dreams did I think the U.S. would tie England. Thanks Green! The U.S. looked pretty good. I hope we can advance. What were your impressions of the U.S.- England game?

The Green fingers helped US to a really hard fought point against England. England were off to a flyer with Stevie Gerrard scoring the opener even before spectators had settled down. But before the half wore on Mr. Green was magnanimous enough to let the ball slip through him to put the US back on level terms. But the match was an entertaining on with around 30 shots on goal from both sides. Cheers! Ram

Question. Was the U.S. playing good World Cup soccer? or was it that England was taking us Yanks lightly. Tell me the truth , I can take it. Cheers!

I think US was trying real hard out there. I still think England was the better side out there, but both teams were poor at finishing off the moves and in the end both would be disappointed that they did not go on to win the game. Cheers! Ram

I wanted so much for the US to win. Not just because I root for the underdog, but because I want see the sport prosper on this side of the pond. That football is not an exclusive European sport. I had doubts after the 4th minute. But thanks to the Green gaffe, they tied. It wasn't pretty, but I'll take it. They didn't win, but at least they didn't lose either.

Sadly there will always be Yanks who see soccer as a sport that kid play until they are old enough to transfer to American football! I see soccer like I see hockey, am acquired taste . I'm glad the score wasn't 3-0 like I thought it would be.Being an Anglophile I was rooting for both teams so this tie is sweet for me.

I didn't see the game but I did receive a few jokes about it. One was that the sponsor of the English team was going to be Butterfinger instead of Mars.

didn't hurt that the goalie from England badly botched that play and allowed the goal on not an incredibly difficult chance, but the way it goes for the USA in these tournaments we will take all the help we can get and a tie with England is a great result for our side and probably pretty deflating for their side since they were heavily favored to win coming into the game. I would have been more then happy if they were able to steal a draw out of that game and they actually had a few great chances to win it but one was a nice save that deflected off of the post, but after that huge break they got earlier in the game to tie it you can't be disappointed with that. It would be nice to see our country make a nice run in the biggest tournament in soccer, but they still have to get out of their group first before they look ahead to the next round.
