Friends are forever![em]confused[/em]

I have a list of people who have been my friends for past 50 years and we have been friends not for the sake of mutual benefits. We just enjoy each other’s company though many a times we had never shared each other’s joys and sorrows. The people who remain your friends for as long as there is a mutual benefit are not friends but they are timeservers. I would not call them friends. I believe in the say that the "Friends are forever".

I guess a lot of people mistake friends with aquintances. People can have lots of 'friends' they do fun stuff with but don't have a very special bond with. True friends are rare, they are people who stick with you for years and years, some may even last forever. But the trueth is, every relationship needs work. Every relationship has a chance of ending if you have difficulties you can't work out together. If you take a friendship for granted you might lose it. So true friends will stick together if they are honest, willing to work on their friendship and have enough in comment.

There are different types of friends. Some are called fairweather friends and they don't stay around for long. Others stay with you through thick and thin. Some people you meet at work and then become friends for as long as the job lasts. Some friends you meet here on myLot, some you keep and some you delete. Real friends will always be by your side for years, these I consider to be my best friends, and they are few and far between. I treasure them. So you are correct, friends are not forever, only a choice few.

Their is truth on it as sometimes others just befriend someone because they have something to gain. if not they just remain greeting type and would not stick around for too long. Some do not like to befriend someone who are not on the same level or social status they have in the society while other deny you when they are in the company of other friend. But their are friends even not seeing each other for a long time their memory remain in my mind and they just could not be replace and just felt concern whatever they are doing now.

hi,Friends or any relationship unless u maintain it proper it would not be foreever.It depends on us who be with our freinds to main tain taht.Just try understanding the situations.It is not mutual benefit.It is mutual understanding about u and others.
