Up till last week i have been contributing articles to Triond , Xomba , Bukisa and posting in my blogs. Then i figured since i have ben writing quite a while, may as well try my luck bidding for simple jobs in Freelancer or Elance, selectively, any extra bit in earnings counts. Attempted and after 3 or 4 bids managed to get some assignments rewriting articles, correcting grammar and spelling and submitting 500 word articles and doing simple research and realized that if you have a flair for writing creatively or merely just have a very high proficiency level with the english language,it is actually simpler to earn an extra hundred bucks or so monthly .So i encourage those with writing talent and with a good command of grammar to try their luck with these freelance sites. Are there any regular myLotters who use these Freelancing sites to look for writing jobs .Will be good to know feedback from these writers and their opinion regarding earning with taking up assigments. Also whether there have been disputes!

I have also been thinking about it from some time. I will be giving it a try in the near future. Its good to get benefited some extra money in lesser time.
I have also joined some freelance writing sites but I haven't participated there actively. myLot is the place where I am active from last few days and it really helps in learning new things and ways, as well as increasing our grammar proficiency.
Happy myLotting!

I do it from time to time, but writing articles is a bit too time consuming for me, so I prefer other ways to earn money online. But maybe I just haven't looked for assignments in the right places?

Freelance writing isn't my life's work, but it seems to be something I'm good at and get paid fairly well for. So, I agree, it can be financially rewarding if you have the proficiency for it and make your services available.
I joined Freelancer.com some time ago (when it was GetaFreelancer.com). I found it too competitive in terms of pay (not in a good way). I did manage to secure a proofreading gig on there for $30, but after that, I quickly moved on.

Hi Bryan! I have accounts on oDesk and Elance, but I haven't gotten any bids in. I've been on these for about 3 months. I guess I'm picky and I don't think that $1.50 isn't worth my writing, but I know I can't afford to be picky.
I've just submitted my first article on Triond and awaiting approval as I comment. Starting on Triond and similar websites seems to be a better model, since you have room to build your portfolio on.
