I sleep with the lights off. But recently, I've been going to sleepovers with workmates. Sometimes we leave the lights on. For me, it is okay. I can still sleep when I cover my eyes with the blanket. Just today, I bought an eye mask to cover my eyes when sleeping.
Can you sleep with the lights on? If not, what do you do during sleepovers when the lights have to be turned on?

Mostly, I sleep with the lights off but sometimes I keep them on after watching a horror film. Horror films are my favorite but they scare me so bad sometimes that I don't dare to turn off the lights at night It's funny because the lights bother me when I sleep so I need to wear an eye mask but then I still can't turn the lights off.

Hi anime girl: I remember that when I was a kid I love to watch horror films but they had the same effect that the one you are describing right now so they make me feel really scare that I wouldn't feel safety unless I sleep with the lights on. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day.
ALVARO.

lol! When I watch horror films at home, I'd be scared whether the lights are on or off. I won't be able to sleep in either situation. That is why I don't watch horror films alone. I do it during a sleep over at a friend's house or something :)

I like to sleep with the lights off. Darkness does not scare me. If someone insists to have the lights on, then I cover myself from head to toe.

i sleep with the lights off. i'm actually having difficulties in sleeping with lights on. however, since i work at night, even if the lights are already turned off it's still not dark because the sun is shining outside. but i still manage to get asleep because of being tired from work.

i can sleep with the light on in the bedroom. but i am one of those scaredy cats, who has to have a light on , even if its only a light in the downstairs hall or a small nightlight. i am terrified of the dark when i am inside anywhere, but i am not scared of the dark when i am outside. when i'm on holiday , i am quite happy walking on the beach in the dark. i pay the electric bills so the cost is down to me.

Mom always left a light on for us at night, then for herself when we got older. I did the same for my kids. I can sleep either way. We do have enough street lights that we don't need to leave one on.

I sleep with the lights off. I could not sleep when the lights are on; covering my eyes won't help. Of course when the lights are on, I turn it off. So does my children they couldn't sleep when the lights are on.

I hate sleeping with some else in the room. I have on occasions had to share a room and it was really hard when the people didn't have the same habits as me. I like the lights off, the TV off, the radio off, the air conditioner and fan off. If it's warm, I like the window open. If I have my own room, I can do most of those things. I will never share a room with someone unless I have no choice,

It is always good to have your own room. You get to do whatever you want unlike when there is someone else with you. But of course, it is also fun to spend time with friends during sleep overs :)

If you are young it is. I'm 47. I'd rather spend the day with friends, then go back to my own space and relax. Sleep overs aren't fun anymore. They are a necessary evil when out of town and forced to share a room for some reason.

I can sleep any way.. Hehehe. That's what I love most about myself, is that I get to sleep almost instantly after I lay down in bed regardless of whether the light is on or off. LOL. The bad thing about it though is that if I still need to do something, I won't be able to do it because I'm super sleepy already, or is already asleep. LOL.

hahaha! I love to sleep but I don't fall asleep right after I lay down in bed. But like you, I choose sleep over the things that needs to be done. That is why I usually finish things early so I can have my well deserved rest :)

lights off. I don't see the point in wasting energy when it's harder to sleep as well. I can see the point with some people maybe in younger kids being scared of the dark. But why waste power in lighting? Learn to sleep in the dark and save some money and power. In sleepovers with the lights on I can just fall asleep because I'm a really deep sleeper so this sort of stuff may be easy for me to say :)

Some adults are still afraid of the dark apparently haha!
I'm like you. I'm a deep sleeper so it is not really a problem. But I just want to cover my eyes to make sure I won't be awaken by the light.

I usually sleep in the dark, but sometimes I leave the light on because I'm so comfortable in my covers already.

I sleep with the lights and the curtains closed. I like it to be nice and dark so I can fall asleep.

Dear Pierrella,
For myself I always sleep with the lights off. It's make me more comfortable compare sleep with lights on.
If I sleep together with my niece, they will lights on but I put a blanket on my face.I didn't want to quarell with my niece so just follow what they usually do.
I ask them to open a slow music for me during my sleepovers and they will off it after i'm sleep.
So easy, just listen a slow music I can sleep slowly.
Regards,
fadyhalim

Personally, I cannot sleep with the lights on. Although my eyes are closed, I can still see some light on the lid of my eye. When I go to a sleepover and the lights are on, I just bury my face into my pillow and try to fall asleep. That's the best you can do at someone's house.

haha yeah, when you close your eyes, you can still see the light. You'll notice when the lights are turned off. :) haha! I don't really like covering my face with pillow. I can't breathe haha! That's why I bought an eye mask :)

I sleep with the lights off. I cannot sleep good if the lights are turned on. If they are on I will pull the blanket up over my eyes and try to go to sleep and if I can't go to sleep then I will ask if we can turn the lights off. I don't have sleepovers anymore but if I have someone spending the night at my house then they always turn the light off.

I usually sleep with the lights on. It wasn't always the case before, I always slept with the lights off until I thought about emergencies when earthquake struck our city often a few months ago.
I think it's difficult to be in the dark when calamity strikes. Most often we panic during emergencies and worst is if we were awaken in the middle of the night with no lights. Similar is the case when thieves come in the night and it's pitch dark in your room.
I know it's more of paranoia but at least whenever I am awaken by something, I can see everything clearly because there's a light on in my room.

Yes, that's true also. It's good to be cautious but it is also good to be asleep soundly with no worries :)
