If so, what do you like best about them? If not, what's your favorite memory of them?
None of my grandparents are still alive=( They died many, many years ago. I was closest to my grandparents on my father's side. The ones on my mother's side didn't like me because my skin came out to be lighter than anyone else in my family's. (My mother is mixed and my father is Black.) So my own grandparents on my mother's side were racist against their own granddaughter.
But the ones on my father's side were another story.... My grandfather on my father's side was the sweetest man I've ever known, and his death still devastates me to this day:'-( He was always there for me, he spoiled me, and I could go to him with my sorrows when nobody else would, not even my own mother........ I think he died of some kind of cancer...... His wife, my grandmother, was also kind, but I really can't remember her, because she died when I was younger. I remember going to her house because there was a whole commotion near there, and ambulances. I broke my way through the crowd, and in her bathroom, she'd died on the toilet. Yes, I said toilet. She'd died of a heart attack, I think, and she had diabetes........ I screamed, crying. Can you imagine, being 7, seeing this scene, seeing your dead grandmother? It was so absolutely horrible to lose the only people whoever cared about me............

As my mother was a teacher I had to be with my two grand mothers. both are loving. Once i went to one of grandmother after a long vaction. She spread her both hands and cried, "Hear comes the light of my eye." Then she huged me. I was 18 years when it happened. I never forget this. sweet rememberance. Now both of my grandmothers are no more.
