hi there people! harry potter saga was a great succes not only for books but for movies, i've seen all of harry potter movies and i love them, i've read the first book and i'll read the others soon. Sometimes movies from books are not so good or they're not good as books, but i think that harry potter movies are great! and what about you? have you ever red harry potter? what's your favourite book? thank you for your responses :)

I have only read a couple of the books and seen two of the movies. I like that sort of thing OK, but am not the sort of person who would wait in a line for it or have to have the exposure right away. I do this the author has done a very good thing for children, though, by giving them something that helps them take an interest in reading. I think those who vehemently criticize her content are being short-sighted.

Same here. I read up to the fifth book in the series and just couldn't read anymore. I guess it started to bore me. I do love to read though. I think I saw the first movie and that was about it. I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan, but I have nothing against the people who are big fans.

Exactly, StephanieAnnC, it was the same way with me when I read Ann Rice's Vampire Trilogy. The first book was fast-paced and interesting, but then I slowed down plowing through the other two in the series, coming to a crawl by the end of the 3rd book.

I have read Harry Potter I think it's brilliant. I'm a writer myself and I wish I could develop a world that detailed. I've also seen the movies, I don't like the movies as much because they have to leave out big chunks of the story.

I never did but then my cousin found out when we were discussing books and she sent me home with the entire collection plus the Twilight series. Wow, what a treat!! I plowed quickly through Twilight and started Harry Potter and am now on book 6. I'm kind of sad that I'll reach the end of the series soon but the books are so interesting that I hate to stop reading and do my work. Rowling is a very, very talented author and what an imagination! I'd like to see the movies, too, but haven't seen them on network or cable TV as of yet.

I never read harry potter books before, the books were selling cheap in those second hand books bookstore before the movies came out,it was thick, i amaze those nerd looking kids holding those thick books and reading them.I hear alot of comments about the movies not nice and the book is better. However, some do said the CGI effect on the movies are nice .But description in books sometime better for imaginatins.

I think both the harry potter books and movies are good. It was times when they got confusing if you didnt pay atttention but for the most part they did a good job as everyone can see how successfull they were in the series

i've read the first book, the sorcerer's stone. i've seen most of the film adaptations but i'm kind of disappointed that there were not as much quidditch tournaments as the first so i kind of didn't like them although, i'm not really sure what's in the other books. it's just that of all the amazing things in the wizards and witches world, i like quidditch the most.

I've read all seven but I'm not really a fan. I'm a big reader, and whenever I used to tell people that I liked to read one of the first subjects that came up was Harry Potter. It kinda bugged the heck out of me. I mean, there are loads more books in the world than just Harry Potter! I should know. I've read about 500 of them. :D But I went ahead and finished the series because my friends were ragging on me for saying I didn't like it and only having read four of them.

Books one and seven. One because this is the first time I have read such great book. I really appreciate Rowling's talent in writing and her imagination is really great! And book seven because for me its the most exciting in the series. All of the mysteries have been solved. And I also love the ending. But I kinda expected this ending since I don't think readers, who are mostly children or teens will want a bad ending.

i'm not agree..
it is better to read all of the book overall than the ovie..
in the book we know more than in the movie because in the movie there are so many act that cut and not same with the books..
i like harry potter because it make our mind to have an effort to guess what the next story..

I have read the complete series and found it to be very good and interesting. In fact I found them to be better than the movies. For e.g. Goblet of Fire was better as a book than the movie. If you are just starting on the series, then hurry up. You would enjoy the final movie better if you have read the book before the movie.
Cheers!

I don't know why but I prefer the first Harry potter book. Maybe it's a psychological fact, because it remainds me of early childhood. Anyway, the first look is like the first love: you never forget. Anyway I liked them a lot more books of films. I think the movies have left out some thing that maybe in the book were important and had wide space. good reading!

Yeah I read the books, and I have watched the movie's too. They were great... I think the books are always better than the movie, but thats a personal opinion, I have always thought like that, because they seem to go into more detail, which sometimes a film can lack.

I do love Harry Potter and I read all the books. I also love Lord of the Rings and now, I am very much excited in reading the book of Percy Jackson. There are 5 books of it and I finished reading books 1 to 3. I am currently in the 4th book. I guess you better read these books too, the story is so nice. I already watched the movie of book 1 and all I can say is that, the movie did not give justice to how beautiful the story is.

Hi codris, No I have never read any of the Harry potter books, but I have seen all the movies to-date. My partner, whoever has read all the books and keeps telling me I am missing so much of the story by only watching the movies. My problem is, seeing the movies has spoilt the surprise and imagination I could get from reading the books, C'est le vie!

Actually (and I know this is going to sound strange) I haven't. I just always figured they were for kids, so I didn't really feel like I was in the right age group. But do people of all ages read these books and see the movies?
