This Is So Embarrassing To Admit But...

...I wet the bed this morning!Yes I did! Why? Well, I was actually dreaming that I had constipation and was on the toilet trying to do a "dump" then all hell broke loose. Fortunately, this is not a regular occurence. Does it ever happen to you? Dream you are on the toilet then you wake up going...."oh, no!" or words to that effect!

Hi Breisa, Welcome to mylot...hmmmm let's wait and see when is the time wehre you will be wetting in bed. Hope it's not because of a dream. Is there other any reason for us to pee in sleep? my brother younger brothers did when they're tired from play when they were kids. but not anymore now.

Hi ms francisco: yes, kids usually do this because they are just learning to control their sphincters so it's possible that tyhey pass through these bad experiences, but it's just about time that they learn... well some boys have more problems than the rest on this. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day. ALVARO

It doesn't happen very often and each time it does I have been dreaming that I am on the toilet. Why I do this I don't know as I'm usually dreaming about something else beforehand, as in this case.

I know it couldn't be helped at the time but it was still embarrassing. I really should stop dreaming that I'm on the toilet! I am glad it hasn't happened to you. I'm quite envious lol.

Hmm... How old are you? I mean, I heard this from my mom a few months ago, it wasn't something recurring but these days she says it's already recurring. I think it has something about the age. Further, I used to do that when I was little. I'd always think that I'm already in the toilet then I released and woke up! Hehehe... Which is why these days whenever I go to the toilet, I always make sure whenever I do it by pinching myself.

Try what I do whenever I am not sure if I'm really in the toiler or just dreaming, pinch yourself or bite your tongue, should it be painful then you're 60% sure that you're in the toilet. Further, you could also turn on the water or something hehehe.. just to be sure. Good luck!

I am 44 and this only happens about 3 times a year (not that I'm counting) lol. All I have to do is NOT dream about toilets and I'm fine. I have always had a hang-up about my periods (not that I was on during my accident) so that may have something to do with it..subconsciously at least.

Ah yes, the annoying side effects of aging. Or childbearing, like peeing when you cough or sneeze too hard. Lovely stuff...

Well, I was still dreaming when the deed happened, unfortunately. By the time I'd woken up properly it was too late. The bathroom is only a few feet away from the bedroom as well although I couldn't help the dream...just one of those things. It only happens about 3 times a year so I suppose I'm blessed. LOL.

Erm I can honestly say no, to both wetting the bed or dreaming about taking a "dump". And I'm hoping that I never do dream of it either, lol. I would say the closest I come is dreaming that I am being sick and suddenly wake up with a mouth full of acid, I suffer from an acid reflux problem which explains that one, and would say "oh no" if I could, but that would be a bit messy.

Wow, I've never experienced that one. Mum used to dream about swallowing her teeth a fair bit. Apparently, this is quite common. I was starting to think I was from a weird family. Hahaha!

hahahaha...i can see you rushing through the bathroom to wash! well, i am challenged to think of a funny or a story about some embarassing moments that i too can share here. no problem with being laughed at as you can't really see those who did. at least you made people laugh and had fun!

Well, I'm hoping it encourages others to do the same. No-one should feel embarrassed on MyLot, there are no repercusions...maybe a few laughs here and there but I don't mind being the subject of ridicule. I can't see people's faces (not like in real life) so that's fine by me. As for swimming in pee...er, not quite but it certainly felt worse than it was lol.

Hi Janey: I think this is an embarrasing situation. Thanks God this have never happened to me. Being a single person, nobody would notice what has happened but even with that I'd feel embarrased for what happened and I wouldn't like to stay thinking about this situation all day. Thanks for sharing with us this embarrassing moment. Have a nice day. ALVARO

I think you are more embarrassed about what happened to me than I was. Don't be my friend, it's only bodily functions, something I need to control a bit better (by not drinking before bedtime) so I'm OK, no worries my friend.

maybe you thought you are dreaming but it really happened. well, sometimes we just felt lazy to wake up and get out of bed easily or i guess you thought you already had gone from your bed but in reality you are still lying there so left you wetting your bed. this is a funny discussion,i can say!

No, I was definitely dreaming I had constipation then I woke up and realised that I was weeing myself in bed. Not a good feeling I have to say! It's a good job I wasn't doing the other, now that REALLY WOULD be embarrassing!!

So do I my friend. In fact on the night in question I'd been during the night as well, which isn't all that unusual. I have been advised to not drink anything before bedtime but then I'll probably wake up with a raging thirst lol.

It happened to me as a child. I recall my siblings and I laughing about that occurence as we talk about our childhood days. The way I remember it I would be dreaming about how much I want to go the bathroom and then in my dream I get to the bathroom and go through the motions then as far as I was concerned it was time to open the head of the river. BIG MISTAKE.... The good thing was catching myself before I let it all out. Just as it comes pouring out and the leg begins to feel warm I would jump ou tof mysleep

This has happened to me a few times. I dreamed that I was peeing in the bathroom and then I woke up and found that I'd peed in bed! But fortunately, my pee was not much. It looked like I just had a leak or something. Even so, I still felt embarrassed even though no one found out about it.

Awww you were very lucky to "catch" it in time if that's the right word. It is embarrassing, you are right but at least I'm not lazy and cleaned up, washed the bedding etc, straight away. I really could do with one of those mattress protectors!

Ha ha, actually that has happened to me too. I was out camping with my husband and we had fallen asleep and everything. Then all of a sudden I was dreaming that I was going to the bathroom and omg. Good thing we were outside camping is all I can say and no one was around.

LOL! It's never happened to me in, say a hotel bed, which I suppose is just as well! I have been sick down the side of a hotel bed though and THAT was extremely embarrassing as my hubby-to-be (as he was then) cleared it up for me. I just led there moaning, wasn't well at all!

I also had a dream of taking a leak in the bathroom and it does feel real. When I woke up I though I was really peeing but thank God it was only a dream. Its really not embarrassing. There's really nothing we can do about it since we are asleep. And our body tends to do things on its own.

Yes it sometimes happen to me but I still manage to wake up when I'm going to pee or something It's easy for me to wake up in this kind of thing. Well I think because I have insomniac and I don't sleep too deep.

It looks like having insomnia helps in your case. I don't suffer from it often but I wish it would help me out too on the 3 occasions or so per year it's needed.

I have not had this happen to myself but it has happened to my aunt. She has had it happen on a few occasions. Sometimes it happens just because your mind and body are completely relaxed and dreaming of such an occurrence can actually take action. Also bladder problem do come with age, and it's not your fault, try not to drink at least 2 hours before bed, and empty your bed completely before bed. Read a book that will have your mind thinking about other things when you dream other than bathrooms. That may help, it's mind over matter in situation such as this!

Thanks for your advice. Yes, I don't do myself any favours drinking before going to bed..and I nearly always have to get up in the middle of the night to "go." On rare occasions though, it's not enough! Welcome to MyLot.
