They are out of fashion and are not in working condition too. I am speaking about those transistor radios, walkman tapes, cassette players and tape recorders. Repairing them will cost much and keeping them as such, occupies space. What to do with these e wastes?

You could find a site and try to sell it if they still work or perhaps have antique value. But if it's unusable and not worth anything you can take it to local trash dump or just outside if you have that kind of stuff driven away from time to time like we have in our country. People actually cruise around and take stuff they can use.

That is a good idea to dispose off things like that. Then it is up to the garbage man to finish it off properly. Well, we have to care for our environment as we are living in it. We all should care to make a better world tomorrow for our kids. They have their rights to enjoy life with pollution free air.

Well, firstly, some people collect such things, so I am sure there would be a person who is willing to buy your old transistor radio. If there are no such people present, you can take these items to a special collection site (if there are any in your country). In my country we have special containers for old electronics that people want to get rid of.

That would be nice, if we could have a special container like that in our country too. Unfortunately there are nothing and I don't know how to dispose them. A new idea strikes me to ask some service engineers to take them free of cost. I think they will accept this offer.

hi there. if you can't keep your old electronics any longer, you can sell them to antique shops. i guess in any city there is the reliable shop where you can sell your old stuff.
in my city, we can sell anything and everything. people call it junk shop. we can sell, old scrap of metals, electronics, books, newspapers, bottles, etc. it's pretty much the place where you can sell anything recyclable.

What country are you from? There are some antique stores who are willing to buy old electronic goods at an amount and would help you in taking off these old fashioned goods from your house. There are these kinds of stores here in the Philippines.

I am from India. It is nice to learn that you have some shops to buy such things, specifically. But my things are not so old to classify them to be having antique values. That is the main problem and repairing them is more costly and right spares may not be available.

I too am from India, but I live in a small town where such exchange schemes are not available. metropolitan city people enjoy various offers like this and disposal there could be easy for you. For me, I still don't know how to get rid of those things which are occupying considerable space.

If they are out dated and if they are working i do charity of old tape recorders. May be we have a new model once but there must be many who dont have them at all or dont have money to buy them. They can use them.

Divya! I am afraid that people will laugh at me, if I am about to donate such old things. So, feel sigh to ask anybody even. For instance, who will like an old transistor which weigh some kilograms, in this FM radio era? And who would like to own a huge tape recorder where there are sleek cd players and ipods?
