Now that internet can provide us almost everything we need to know like history, online dictionaries are in there, the latest and old time sciences, recipes, name it and you can find it online. Do you still want to collect or buy books? I know of a friend who has lots of books in his house that he has nothing to put in them. His bedroom is full of books and also the guest room even the living room and the counter of his kitchen. You can hardly walk around. I wonder!! how can he read all those books? How about you, do you still have time to read a lot? I don't.. hehehe

Yes I do collect books over the years. I mostly do it because I end up reading the books at least twice, sometimes more! I love reading but I have trouble with comprehension! That is another reason I will read a book more then once! There have been a few books I read at least three times because of my comprehension! It can be frustrating but I deal with it!

I have a few books, nothing like what your friend has, but I have them in my bedroom, the living room, I like to collect recipe books, so I have a few in my kitchen, not enough of them to make it hard to walk around my house, just a few. I still have time to read, I try to read every night, it calms me down and helps me to relax and get ready to go to sleep.

I still buy books now. I have different feelings when reading real books, it's better than reading online. But the quantity is much smaller. I only buy the ones I think they are worth to buy, and always I'll read online first to decide whether to buy or not.

With the internet that can provide us almost everything I still buy books. I love buying books from the selections of Oprah's book club. Those are the only books that I'm buying but I'm keeping it to a minimum because I don't want to have a house full of books or a house that looks more of a library than a house lol. I just have a stand of books in the corner of our living room.I also don't buy dictionary or encyclopedia because you can already check the information from those books online. But the novels you have to have a real book for you to concentrate because you can read it while lying in your bed.I still have a lot time reading because I'm a stay at home.

Hi there Bebs,
Books are meant to be shared. I went thru a spell of collecting books and realized quickly what a waste of space it was. I donated all of my books to charity. I am an avid reader. I love books and I have to say that there are very few that I would read twice. I do have a small bookstand in my living room. In it are a dictionary and a Natural Health book and a couple of books that were given to me to read. Oh I also have a thesaurus that is right next to my dictionary. Oh and I do have a leather bound bible that I admittedly don't read much but it also has it's permanent place in my home. Most books I pass on if I own them. I pretty much rent from the library. I am currently reading the "clan of the cave bear" series. I would never have picked up the book to begin with had it not been strongly recommended to me. It is an amazing book...series. I have to say that it is one of those books that you just have to pass forward. As is with all good books, why would you hold them on your shelves. Pass them on to be enjoyed by others. If you want to read them again...there is always the library.

Hi Bebs~ Yes, I still buy books! I still love to read books!
It helps me relax. I usually read before I try to go to sleep.
If I see a book and it is at a decent or bargain price I will
buy it. I have been reading alot of different books since last
summer and really enjoying myself! I read all different types,
but I think mysteries are my favories!

I used to collect books before and reading every pages not just books anything which appear to me as a good sources of intellectual matter i devour reading till I absorb each knowledge on certain subjects which evokes my interest. Now days i rarely buy books since i just download e-book in the internet. I just borrow books like the famous novels then just read it then back again to the owner. Since buying books tend to be more expensive on my part. I prefer to buy encyclopedia from A to Z complete informative sources.

There was a taste of collecting books a decade back but now a big NO because internet provides us nearly 99% of the items required hence,it is not necessary for me to collect books .I stopped collecting books long back. And not only that we are falling short of time too because of our preoccupations.

Well I certainly make time to read, but then for me reading is a compulsion. I LOVE books and have tons. I can get lost in a book anytime. Used to be I couldn't get to sleep unless I had done some reading. It's like they were calling to me.

I would still prefer to collect and read books. It has been my hobby since I was in high school, I actually started of with some 20 page book until I was able to find time to read those thick and heavy hard bound books. The good thing about it is you can actually bring them anywhere with you unlike the internet which is sometimes unreliable and not always available. I admire your friend for having those books that he can read, at least he has a lot of options. Nowadays, I still make sure that I read at least one book every week even if I have a full time job.

I appreciate books. I can't manage sitting down and reading for more than an hour, though. I'm always careful with educational books, however, because unlike the internet where you can get true or false information usually free, if you buy an educational book without researching it first, you may have purchased false information. I have about three or four books I read.
