Hi,everyone
I got the information on internet, all staff are agreed to watch soccer on television during working hours in Germany?I envy them, but I don't it is right or not?
I think it is a good policy.Watch football matches together can encourge "team cohesion and staff motivation".But each company should decide the policy for itself, strike a balance with the watch matches hours and working time. That's all.
I work in a Brazil company in China,I also hope we can watch Brazil team football matches, that is a dream, cann't be true. But I still vote Brazil team, she will be the winner,be the champion.
Express your ideas!!!
Good luck,thanks for everything.

It's the same situation here in Italy. The whole country seems to grind to a halt when Italy play
In many companies they organise it so that employees can watch the match. This has happened for as long back as I can remember and I guess it's better than not allowing staff to watch it as many would sign off sick just to be able to follow the game.
Even in the towns, no mater how small or large they are, there are huge screens set up so that everyonr can watch in the company of others. Italy played lasy night. I was at home and I had the windows open and whereas usually I can hear traffic, all I could hear for the entire time that the match was on were the birds singing!

That's so nice to be able to watch the World Cup in the working hours. It is a very considerate policy:) I heard that in Beijing there is a company that has some nice policies during the World Cup. Such as the working time will be on 10:30am during the World Cup. Then the staff can go to the bar together if there is a match about Brazil. Of course the cost will be paid by the company. And the company will have a game to let the staff guess which is the winner. There will be some good prize for it. And if Brazil finally wins the champion, then they will go out to celebrate it:) I think this must be a Brazilian company:)
I love China

wesley_lu,
Just to let you know, Germany is not the only country to encourage companies and government offices to declare off days when their country's national team is competing in a tournament like the World Cup.
However, it is not across the board so don't envy as there will still be some companies or government offices working like the police, airport staff and etc.. Also, since you are in China and if you are not working shifts then you should be able to watch the live telecasts including your team when they are playing.
Like you, I am also a loyal fan of Brazil and I hope that they will win this year's tournament.
Take care.

Hi wesley_lu,
Well, all's not lost as I am sure that there will be a repeat telecast for you to catch up.
Looking at how your country played this morning, I would say that their chances of reaching the last 3 is promising. Coach Dunga really has a great team in this year's tournament, although I must say that the press back at his home is criticizing him still.
All the best to Brazil@!

Wow that's amazing! I wish I lived in Germany now :) I am going in to work earlier and earlier because I feel if I hear about the tv coverage I will turn around and go straight home. :D I'm lucky because my fiance can tape the coverage that I miss. I think I would bet on Brazil winning OP! :D But maybe that's just 2002 nostalgia talking. Have a wonderful day!
