after last year ondoy typhoon, i myself listed things that we need to have on a stormy season like that. so i tried to make sure that i am ready for that. i already have my emergency kit. batteries there, small radio, battery operated so i can still listen to news even there is no electricity. i also have a small tv that is battery operated, candles, lighter, flash light, disposable underwear, few medicines. what else do i need to put? any suggestions? are you ready for the stormy season? its better prepared than to be caught unaware again.

Hi 7th,
You are such a boyscout. i never thought of this emergency kit though we have one place at home where match, candles and flashlights are kept so that anything happens we're all aware where to get it. we have our bed ready. THanks for this reminder friend!

as you know my friend that the house of my mother was flooded up to the roof so now i am more prepared for that. i mean kit because i put it inside a bag that water can not get in. so if ever we need to evacuate i can carry the bag and carry my son at the same time. i also calculated that last year most of the september days were raining so when it rained at 26 (the ondoy fever) water no longer knows where to go. so if september will be raining again everyday i will put my mother already on a much higher ground just to make sure she is safe. ondoy experienced should make us all aware and make sure this time we are prepared. its better prepared. thanks for the response

lucky i was able to buy a small radio at handy man. it is just like a transistor radio that our grandparents used on listening the news when we were still kids. atleast it is handy and easy to carry. and i just need small batteries for that. flash light is one of the important things you need to have when the stormy season is around. in your place is it no electric no water also? thanks a lot for the response

I have not started to think about it but I guess it is already time to get this things over. Yeah the Ondoy experience was something that we should all be reminded of to be ready for the coming rainy days. Especially when typhoon season which is fast approaching already.

yes we are already in our rainy seasons and soon the typhoon will enter in our country. it is better prepared than not. although i can say during the ondoy we are ready but if the water went higher inside our house me and my wife no longer know what to do after that. lucky inside the house the water only reached at the first floor of the house and we are safe at the second floor. so now we are more prepare for we bought some life jackets too to help us escape if ever. thanks a lot for the response.

I feel bad for our country men who don't have enough shelter to save themselves from the incoming typhoons. it's a problem that the government should address, the problem should be addressed by making large tunnels to accommodate the incoming waters, large pipe lines won't work at all as i have seen people installed them

Yeah, I am always ready for whatever disaster that will hit our country. Don't forget to buy foods that are not perishable, like canned goods, noodles and biscuits to survive the disaster. Go to the city or municipal hall to know what plans they have made regarding this matter.

thanks very much for the additional advice and suggestion. yes i forgot to mention canned goods and a few bar of chocolates. did you know that japanese people always have a small bag as their emergency kit and in that is flashlight, a bar of chocolate, a small bottle of water and a towel. they have that emergency kit incase of earthquake. and it is a must for them to have that small bag. thanks a lot for the response.
