Actually my laptop suffers from the same problem. I've consented to accept the fact that my laptop is busted. . not much you can do about such things. Buy a new one. I'd suggest alianware XD

actually i got a Windows vista basic, 32 bit. but the problem with mine is that it can't hold power. Its only on as long as its plugged in. Unplug for split-second *off* instantaneously

Considering you have done all the measures to check your battery and cord is plugged. NOW remove the Battery pack, wait for a 2-3 minutes. ( you should have disconnected the power cord) Put it back again and try to power up once more.

Well, you could always try taking out the battery and plugging it in directly. Also, You can try checking the batteries.

First off, describe what's wrong with it. I don't want to insult your intelligence, but first off is it plugged in? if so when you press the on button what does it do? Does the lap top have a light that turns on when it is plugged in to indicate that it is charging? If it does, then it may not be the power strip. if it does not have a light but is supposed to i would try to get a new power strip.
