So many things going on in my life and the world and the world needs help

There have been so many things going on in our world lately that I really want to chat about. I have been so busy that I haven't even had time to catch up on my friends discussions. Shame on me. First thing is the oil spill what more can I say but it is awful. I wish we could push and push towards alternative fuels. The oil business had too much power and greed. They do not care for the environment let alone every day people. The only ones they really care about are the ones that will continue to scratch each others backs and fatten those wallets. I have more I will talk about on that later. Also I read an article about human trafficking. I have always known that it existed I guess I didn't realize how much. They said the United States was ranked for the first time. I guess we are a Tier one Country. There is a website that I have only just begun to explore called humantrafficking.org where you can get more information. I know that sometimes extreme poverty opens the door for such awful acts and opportunities to those who spend their lives feeding off of others misfortune and misery. It breaks my heart to know that in this day and age that we could have according to a federal report world wide 12.3 million human trafficking victims. How many are children? There innocence striped away. The joys of learning and growing and building healthy relationships non existence. This is definitely another issue that I am going to look into over the next couple of weeks. I will be off work for a month so I am sure that I will be filling the discussion board with things that are dear to me as well as catching up with my friends issues. I will end this with this thought what thing can we do even if it is only a tiny gesture to help make this world a better place for our generations to come?
