BP Escrow Fund a Good Idea

The escrow fund is a great idea. All we have to do is to look at the history of government funds. Look at Social Security Trust Fund. All the money people have paid in over the years is there to pay for the benefits when they retire. Oh, the Congress spent it on other programs and SS is going broke. Well lets look at the Medicare Trust Fund - That is spent on other programs. What about the Highway trust Fund - that is being spent on mass transit, bike trials, hiking and walking paths and not highways. Well there is the stimulus money that went to create or save 4 million jobs. Oh it only created or save a few thousand or a few hundred or who knows.
Well I guess we are stuck with BP paying out the claims, which they are doing and have paid 50% of the ones filed to date.
Who would you trust - the government or BP?

lmao cute question. I am more likely to trust BP. They haven't raped me yet. Escrow "trust me" accounts for money Bp needs to pay out, or MAY need to pay out. All that oil spouting out and into the Gulf and this is all the adminstration can come up with? All of these companies from around the world, ready and willing to help. No dice. Domestic figures with ideas go unheard. But Obama "show me the money" has his boot on BPs wallet!

I trust private industry over the government every time.
Anyone who thinks the government can do a better job than private enterprise is a moron who probably voted for 0bama.

If I had my choice, I'd trust BP right now. Not that they're particularly trustworthy, but in comparison to our current government, almost anyone is preferable.
I think an escrow fund is a good idea because it gives people something to hold on to, a promise of sorts.
I think an escrow fund should be required for every entitlement program the government runs. I'm sure there wouldn't be so many of them but maybe they'd really work.
