Are beautiful women allowed to move up the corporate ranks?

Working women have a hard time managing a career especially when dealing with men who are visual creatures. Beautiful women have an easy time getting hired but not necessarily promoted. A fair to unflattering woman has an easier moving up the ranks than a cute one. Whereas a man has the ability to become CEO in a company if he is good looking and tall, does it work in reverse for a beautiful woman trying to ascend the same corporate ladder? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

It's sad to note that people seldom associate intelligence with beauty---which is unfair of course because there are so many beautiful women who are capable of something big, of holding positions that any good-looking man can handle. Sometimes beauty can be a curse, but people should be more open-minded as physical looks are just externals and do not actually reflect the person's inner beauty.

Hi Cutie18f. I agree with your sentiment. Have you been victim to this situation in any capacity? It seems that most (not all) businessmen want women for eye candy only and never take the time to really evaluate their skills and business abilities. I believe that businessmen are looking for an escape from their home reality and turn to fantasy at work when possible.

Really it depends on the intentions of the people who are in charge, or do the hiring!
Are they just trying to satisfy their visual 'hunger', or are they interested in the intellectual qualification of the female employee?
An intelligent employer will be able to tell if a person has the intelligence needed for the job they need them for!
Whereas a 'common' employer will just be satisfied with the visual aspects of a good looking female , without considering qualifications!
