this is something that i have read before. pls don't take it against me.
a lot has been discriminating to the Filipino that we have NO roots from the beginning. that's because we were conquered three times and been placed with spanish, american and japanese dna straights but taking back in time of the stone age. frankly, the chinese, vietnamese, taiwanese, koreans have the same ancestors as we have..and yet people were saying we should know our roots before we start bragging about our accomplish-ments.
an most rudely say Filipino sucks but is it? i mean we have so many ethnic languages that actually made us so divided till this day. as if during the election almost 20% majority is politically different from the other.
what do you think should be our origin? does it even matter?

We do have origins. Back in elementary, we studied them right? Negrito, Indones and Malay.
We've been doing well before the spaniards came. the Malay's way of living's very effective
This is a classic example of people who don't think before they speak. Classic insecurity and immaturity. These people are probably so pissed that their country hasn't had any accomplishments like we do. Their countrymen haven't done anything to make them proud, unlike us, who have a lot to really brag about

Hi jean,
It doesn't matter but you know that's where our education comes in. i believe the media should again re introduce history in the notion of telenovelas and movies, because even children are into tagalog movies so if history should be put it again in the media shows and movies, children will appreciate to learn history again.

As usual it is the arrogant and ignorantwho try to appear smart yet really don't know anything.
Filipinos have an origin. It may not be as well known as other countries but it is as colorful as any otherr history I have read. Especially our pre-spanish heritage. Read around the interent and you know what I mean
Don't mind the haters and posers they're just trying to bring us down.

Of course we have; please review your history books about the Filipinos. The Negritoes are our first ancestors; then there's what they called "Magbabañua" from Palawan. The second wave of our ancestors were Indonesians and the third wave are the Malays. History even stressed that we're of Malay race. The people from the West like the Spanish are only part of some Filipinos who married some Spanish people. Like my great grandmother, she is pure Spanish and my great grandfather is of pure Filipino blood so some of my family members like my mom has fair skin. Regards with the Chinese, they came here to our place long before the Spanish came to establish business but some Filipinos also married them so the rest is history; there's the Japanese, the Americans and some of our Asian neighbors. I can relate our history with the American people because not all Americans came from England but different countries from Europe and also from Asia.

That is not a lick true! Filipinos do origin! Everyone has an origin whether they know it or not.
Everyone comes from somewhere in this world.
I know the some Filipinos have Spanish last names, so must have Spanish blood in them. I know that some Filipinos have American blood in them. Filipinos have many origins, may not be direct origins, but you have origins nonetheless.
I am not so sure about my origins, but I know that I have them. I know that most of my family is from Europe, mainly Wales in Great Britain. I know that the Welsh have been invaded as well, but they don't take it personally. Every culture has just been invaded by another culture.
Filipinos just have to realize that they are no different from any other culture. You have all been invaded by cultures, just like many other cultures, and you all have your own ways and traditions just other cultures. You have crazy people, and other cultures have their share of crazy people too. Again, you guys just have to learn that you do have a culture, and origins, but you just have to spend some extra time sorting it all out like the rest of us do.
Listen. Filipinos have a lovely cultures. I think you guys have awesome food. I have had Filipino food several times and I do love it. I know that some of y'all believe in arranged marriages, I don't agree with it, but I know that it is what some people in your culture believe in.

i think to those who said that it would be better if they just read our history..and beside despite of being overpowered by foreign countries our forefathers and heroes fought hard that is why we just celebrated our ARAW NG KALAYAAN. Aside from that a lot of filipinos now are being well known from other county from their different crafts..if you know who you are and where you came from there is no reason to get bothered by those people..maybe they are just being jealous or intimidated of what the Filipinos had been accomplished..Mabuhay ang mga Filipino.......

I think we have our own Origin. With a lot of different culture that was introduce to us from the Japanese, Americans and Spanish, i think that makes us Unique and original. I dont know if anybody in the world has a blood came from different cultures. Our origin is written in history. We are original. We are unique and we should be proud of it.

I think Filipinos are wonderful people. Very cute girls I might say :D
I would like to visit the Philippines because I've seen some nice pictures made there.
Everyone has an origin, we all come from somewhere.
My opinion is that it doesn't matter what's your origin but it's good to know. What matters most is how you live your life.

I know my roots and my history. The dialects are something to be proud of. The Americans and the English find it difficult to learn another language. But us, we can easily pick up new terms. I think the world is watching this brown blood race.

It means we are popular in terms of our accomplishments that's why they're claiming that they are (whoever they are) our origins. Just like Charice Pempengco, I heard some japanese claiming that Charice has a blood of Japanese. It simply because Filipinos nowadays excel in different aspects - whether in sports or in talent. I don't know if there was but I will not be surprise if someday other race will claim that Many Pacquiao has their blood! ^_^
